That’s a great hack. I love the card you were able to create using the beautiful gold foil cardstock. My question to you is how were you able to pass that through your die cutting machine with all the scratches, which I know are normal on your plates and not transfer them to the gold foil piece. I haven’t been able to do that unless I use a new cover plate.

Why not just use a solid piece of background paper ?
@SugarShineDesigns
@SugarShineDesigns 26 күн бұрын
Always an option but there will be a raised area because you’re not filling in the empty shape. In some cases that might be preferred if you’re looking for more dimension. When filled in, it has the look of wood inlay or a puzzle that is complete. You can see the seams and it’s a nice finish. As with all design techniques, using it or not is up to you depending on your design goals and time you may have to work on a piece. Thanks for the question.

I have been using the quill pen to foil napkins. It works great but sometimes can be hit or miss (foil rips through and rips napkins. Still trying to figure it all out. So far I have made 160 napkins with 40 more to go.

Wow! I wish I could see them. You must be doing it for a special occasion. With only 40 to go, you’re going to get there!

I have yet to find a cutter that checks all the boxes. This one checks a lot of them though. I use it and a Cutterpillar Pro. I use the scoring tool, cutter, and bow maker pretty much every week as I’m a daily crafter. Sorry you haven’t liked it but maybe give it another try. You might like it better the 2nd time around. ❤️

Where do you find the number on the cutting board so that you know the blades will fit? I can't find the number and it says that the blade that you're are showing fits WR660407 & WR660453. Would that be right????
@SugarShineDesigns
@SugarShineDesigns 3 ай бұрын
Hello. This video is quite old now and back then the blades were carried at the stores I mentioned. I advise checking Scrapbooks.com and the weR site itself. The blade type is the same on most if not all of their cutters so that isn’t or shouldn’t be a big concern. They do that to cut down on their manufacturing costs. I stocked up on blades so haven’t had to find another source yet. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I went to all three craft stores that you mentioned to buy new blades and they don't have any. Even Hobby Lobby doesn't as they don't carry the Works All in One Tool anymore.

OMG - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I have been trying to figure out how to change this blade for ages and even wrote to We R Makers today before I thought of looking on You Tube. Wow - so easy when you know to lift it a little. (I tried too getting it off each end with no luck). Also, never noticed the notch in the back of the blade to cut just a small piece. I am that person that has been cutting a whole strip off a 12x12 for only a maybe 5x5 piece. Game changer, for sure.

Loved this video - it's handy knowing how this tool is still holding up for you long after you first bought it. For me, inky fingers are a sign of a serious artist. Lol! And I think you must have the right balance of face to camera and top down camera, because until you mentioned it I hadn't really noticed. And I would have if there'd been moments when you said "can you see this?" Or "look here" and the camera didn't show what we needed to see. Instead everything flowed well and I could easily see where you directed our attention. So well done with the editing as well. And thanks for thinking to post a second video on the CONTINUING function of this comprehensive tool, blade changing and all.

Aw, the good old black household hole is where you'll find it. Same as in your purse or luggage. You know you have put something in there but the second you want to retrieve it, it is never found, in the smaller potable black hole. Now sometimes if the space time continuum feels it has pulled it's universal joke on you long enough (the part where you are ripping your hair out, chewing your nails to the bone) it may allow said lost objects to return. This is only so it can have yet another great laugh at us as it will put it right back where it took it from! LOL

Absolutely Gorgeous! I would love to make one of these in memory of my mother and father. I lost her last year. It’s the hardest thing that I have ever gone through and still going through. I lost my dad, Father’s Day 2005. Which hurt bad. But, it’s nothing like losing your mom. It made me not care for Father’s Day anymore. Nothing adds up to your parents. I just wish that I could hear their voices one more time. Just a phone call from them would certainly make my day.

I’m so sorry for your losses. Losing loved ones is the most painful thing that can happen to us. I hope your memories ease your pain a little bit. Doing activities like making this memory ornament can help with healing too - or at least that’s my experience. Hugs.

Yes, I’m sorry about that. You would have to use an inch to centimeter conversion on the net for it. I run into the same thing with designers only sharing centimeter measurements and that’s what I do to convert them. Thanks for you comment and support - Janet

What size dies do you use, paper
@SugarShineDesigns
@SugarShineDesigns Жыл бұрын
I have this in the video but I think it’s a 3” mouth which means you can use anything up to that size. I find that 80% of the time, my dies fit in it. Won’t work for most card sized background dies like rectangles because they are bigger. Most paper piecing dies fit fine. Hope that helps.

Yes, I’m finding that too. Cricut has made a lot of changes which make my directions difficult to follow. I find templates but at the end of the image listings. Go there and work your way up and you will see some envelopes you can choose to cut. Search for envelope template.

Can you just use the foil piece that is usually used with the cricut?
@SugarShineDesigns
@SugarShineDesigns Жыл бұрын
I’m not 100% sure of your question but you can use any foil piece that is heat and pressure sensitive. It won’t work with deco foil as that needs a glue adhesion. Cricut foils will work with the Foil Quill. Thank you for asking your question.

No, still can't get the blade off, completely unimpressed with WRMM for making changing the blade so difficult.
@SugarShineDesigns
@SugarShineDesigns Жыл бұрын
Please watch what I do in the video for this. With the cutting edge to the right of the unit, put gentle and steady pressure up at the top of the blade mechanism. The blade will pop out of the holder. Similar pressure in needed to install a new blade. If yours doesn’t do that, there may be something wrong with it. Contact them directly for help. Sorry it’s been a problem and frustration.
