When I first heard this song I thought it was a bit odd having a casually racist song about the Japanese increasing in size.

Haven't seen these since the early 1980s, 40-odd years ago, but as soon as I saw the thumbnail I was like "Oh god, he cuts his fingers off and stuff like that, doesn't he?" - so it obviously left a lasting impression :) We were so spoiled for great comedy back then with this, The Young Ones, Not The Nine O'Clock News, Blackadder, Hitchhiker's Guide, etc., and all around the same time (81-83) when I was in middle-school ... so much classic stuff in that era. I don't think 2024's BBC is capable of making this kind of goodness at all anymore, let alone being so effortlessly prolific with it. Christ, the last time I saw any genuinely great comedy on the BBC was a Harry Enfield thing in (looks it up) 2014. A decade ago. And that was looking back at the BBC's past glories.
