Wrong seatbelts configuration. Car seatbelts really don't work well in a crash, regardless of airbags. Been there & done the crash thing. Simpson 5 point harness is the ticket if your cabin is tough enough for survival. These planes need to handle at least 4 people that weight 260 lbs. each & 6' tall. plus power to get the job done/ no less than 450 horses/ same on torque rating.

I would say and pray the new or pre-owned aircraft will have a dedicated plan on this. No matter how much you want the plane please have imtruction. WTF you have the money. Don't kill yourself get your stuff way ahead of yourself. Never show off ever when you enter this. Figure this out decide and have fun. 300k to 400K used cost pre-owned an opportunity to get a deal. Nope spend your money you can you will. Be safe or suffer.

This is the most versatile and cost effective aircraft after it is purchased. The TBM 960 is great and faster but how many passengers can go 1,700 miles without needing a bathroom? 4 or 5 hours holding it, just doesn’t work for most. The PC-12 is a little slower but if you have to stop to let grandma Betty pee, well their goes that speed performance advantage. That’s just my opinion. Both are absolute beast aircraft.

The first prototype of the SJ 30 flew in 1991, since then they sold only 8 planes. The SJ30 suffers from the same problem as the Learjet or the Citation X, the cabin is too narrow , especially cabin height is very low, the market does not accept private jets any more that trade in small cabins for speed and range. That is not surprising since even the average flight duration of a Gulfstream 650 is only 2 hours. People want space and comfort as their top priority.
@christophergagliano20515 күн бұрын
You are exactly right my friend, and if the flight crew had any say in the purchase of a new jet, they were turned off by how small the cockpit was. It was tiny but then again Ed Swearengen was of slight build and not very tall. This is what happens when one man makes all the decisions in the design. Yes they were the first to incorporate the new FJ44 engines into biz jet, but the thought to be stuck in this small aircraft that could go over 2,000 mi just didn't fit well for the American market.

@@christianbayerstein5243 They couldn't afford a potty. All the money went towards machining the wing skins, that's right those wing skins start out about 1 3/4" in thick and then they machine them down, incorporating flanges and stringers all machined into the wing skins (4 qty)

This thing's a lot smaller than the phenom 300 but it cost more money, no thanks The value proposition is just not there anymore. I was a certification engineer on this project back in the mid 90's It never had a program leader up to the task to create your organization to bring it to market, but for sure it was an engineering marvel. The thing was so well built it didn't even have a wing spar!

Phenom 300 costs $13MM+
@christophergagliano20515 күн бұрын
@@jasoncrandall That's too bad, when I worked for Embraer a few years back They were only 8.5 M. And the phenom 100 was like 5.5 M. I never got to text you the phenom 300 but I did get checked out on the phenom 100. Engine start was sketchy so you always had to start the thing into the wind, if not you had to be ready to shut it down quickly due to slow spool up time, (hot start).
