Rules count for americans too, so if he did not want to be disqualified, he should not knock the opponent out, after "stop" ... it is quite clear, but since entitled americans have thise tendency of expecting a different set of rules for americans, well ... not surprising.

That just shows you that Boxing in the Olympics has a HORRIBLE reputation of BAD CALLS & DECISIONS & DISQUALIFACATIONS & CROOKED JUDGES who get paid off or wined & dined for a country's favor like in the case with ROY JONES JR... What's sad is I don't even know anyone who cares or watches Boxing in the Olympics anymore, unless your friends or family of the Boxer. I was at a restaurant in 2021 during the summer games and the bar tender said we got Olympic Boxing or Cooking with Bobby Flay. 10 seconds later were watching Bobby Flay cook on his program.

A lot of respect for Morales and his camp for sparring Valero in front of cameras. Its not a very good PR move for top fighters to spar someone very strong or on even grounds with the champion since there is always the fear of the champ looking bad in front of the camera and public and seeing his weaknesses get exploited by the sparring partner. But Morales did it because he wanted to fight a strong fighter to see how good he himself was. Just the kind of champs of the olden days. I heard that Valero got kicked out of Golden Boy Camp because he was giving too much trouble to Oscar De La Hoya. Valero was a special talent

The EM sparring bud came years later I believe after he had retired. As for De La Hoya the only rumor that was true was in the post fight of de la Hoya/pacquiao someone interviewed EV saying he got kicked out. Years later somebody else from golden boy admitted it.

The big difference I see from Valero nd Pakq is the defence. Valero defence was to step back hands down get feet in position ready to counter. Pakq was to have hands up waiting for the fighter to get himself out of position. Valero p4p. They need to release sparring session

I watched it live and nothing has changed to this day. It was very unfortunate because Evander was clearly the better fighter... But he threw the punch after the ref said Stop. The punch was devastating, so the ref had no choice but to disqualify. Very unfortunate, but if you don't understand then you never spent 5 seconds in a boxing ring.

@Vinny.X
@Vinny.X 11 ай бұрын
@@viharikrishnan5588 That's just not true. Just cause you start a combination doesn't mean you get to finish the entire combination. The RIGHT HAND hits the body a microsecond after the referee says stop. That's ok because you can't stop that punch. But then he throws the hard LEFT HOOK clearly after "stop" that didn't need to be thrown. No different when the runner is leveled a yard out of bounds. At 3:29 of the video, slow down the speed to 1/4 helps. It's indisputable. First the right hand hits immediately AFTER stop, which is legit, then the complete second punch is thrown, which is not legit. As the announcer says, "I'm absolutely sure that was a punch after the referee says stop." You would be as angry as f*** as I would be if somebody hit you or I like that in sparring or a match. I like Holyfield, always have, but it was absolutely the right call and the ref had the guts to make it. I salute him. Watch the video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aN6qiMWkqsncdaM.html
