I would use shorter cord. Your required pull length seems too long for cqc to me and my comfort. I don’t want my arm halfway extended in front of my body while an attacker may have drawn a weapon.

Yes i agree it would be way better if it had a bit more of a guard maybe about like the mora bushcraft height would be great and that small guard isnt going to impede most bush craft type jobs to any degree .

940 is my favourite edc. I try to find another edc that I love as much as my 940. Just can’t find one. I also own the socp dagger. It’s fun to have not something a normal person will use often or at all. But still fun to own.

Time for a cursed set up. I carry a POS fixed blade with semtimental value, upside down in a 3/4 leather sheath, and i tie a bandanna through the loop and wrap it round my bicep or leg

I've EDC a recon tanto for about 12 years, the old aus8 version, used so much that the texture is essentially rounded over now. I've used it how I would use a fix blade, batoning/throwing/prying/picking you name it, and there is ZERO wobble or play. Just as solid as day one and is actually much smoother I REALLY miss cold steels old g10, the new stuff is too slick for my liking especially on the big (5.5") espada, any bit of sweat or gunk and it might as well be glass lol Should've bought more especially when they went to XHP, found one of the rare XL recons with that steel and grippy scales for sale and am tempted

Just picked up the CruCarta Manix XL for $166 and I absolutely love it! I love me a legitimately full size folder, and the 2.99” cutting edge on the standard Manix 2 is just a tad small for my taste.

Great little knife, but I really like the MagnaCut Sencillo better, for both size and blade shape. Honestly, I think I'm going to go for a TJ Schwarz Confidante one of these days.

Got mine last 07/15/2024. Initially I thought about letting it break-in naturally but it was taking too long. On the third day, I removed the pivot and blade and cleaned them, put them back together and adjusted it. It's perfect. I already have the 551 but I wanted to try the 550. Loving both knives.By the way, I also have the 556 Mini Grip. All three of mine are in S30V.

I am a recent arrival to the Manix 2 party. I thought the Para 3 was my goldilocks Spyderco, and bought multiple variants. The compression button on a Crucarta purchase made me realize how the Para 3 wasn't perfectly ambidextrous, and I had to rely on grippy scales for traction. I was able to one-hand open and close easily with my right hand, but my dominant left hand had difficulty. Switching the clip to the other side helped. I have no such problems with the Manix 2. It excels at all the different methods of deployment and closing the knife is just like the Axis lock knives I own.

Can you put an ulticlip on a medium sized fixed blade and clip it to your pocket but have the knife on the outside? Ive only really seen people doing small pocketable knives with an ulticlip.

I’m a 48 year old Ex-infantry veteran that’s worked blades longer than I … nope I was 7 my dad had my watch Rambo 1st blood part 1, after my mother raised me on Staff Sergeant Barry Sadler’s “Ballad of the Green Beret” album, I learned later on about different steel qualities and saw how almost all the best old school knife makers stuck with 80CRV2 and then I worked with a seal carrying an axe like that and was in love … still am however on my 1300.00 a month VA pension for a machine gun barrel shoved into my abdomen in a helicopter crash costing me 24 inches of intestines food is more important and I only eat every 3days as is so yeah I’ll never see it, but a man’s can have dreams right ? lol have a good one.

I bought this knife a few days ago, i dont like it as much as my ti-lite 4" but i do like it. Thanks for the video, i wouldn't have thought about throwing it at trees or some of the other things but its good knowing that it took the abuse and was still useable.

I own two of them and it's a good piece of Kit and works over the Buck 110 for me because it's so much lighter and deployment is like lightning. It will be perfect as long as it's not extremely abused.

In regards to durability, from watching the 12 ft pound testing which Spyderco does at the factory, the spidey hole does not seem to compromise blade strength whatsoever, as it is literally never the breaking point of the knife. In addition, the ball bearing lock from Spyderco is one of the strongest locks in production right now, and while Benchmade's axis lock is plenty strong as well, IMO durability is a win for the Manix if only slightly. The plastic used in the cage construction also makes it feel cheaper but was chosen for the functionality of decreased wear on the metal components surrounding the cage, prioritizing a long lasting product. Loved the video, fellow Manix maniac

this was a good video. I just got mu 1211 earlier today, I stropped it to a near mirror finish on the bevel. had a few ka-bars in my day but I'm happy I got this one. I went on Kabars website and the 1211 models are only going to be receiving a single stamp on the tang, it no longer has USA 1211 on the tang anymore. Hopefully it makes it more durable. I thought I got a knock-off at first! I'll put some use on it after the "babying" phase!

I've got an old half serrated one in AUS8A. Absolutely love everything about it. The steel is SO easy to keep screaming sharp with a strop (which is good because a half serrated tanto generally isn't lol) . I've got Spyderco, I've got ZT, I've got Chris Reeve, but I always go back to my Recon 1 tanto when I need a knife and have no idea what sorts of things I might need to cut that day.

I had older clip point, but my 23 old grandson really wanted it. So being a great popa I gave it to him. I missed it so much I bought the spear point. I haven't showed him yet, he will probably poop himself. But he will get it when I'm dead, lucky him.
