This video would be a lot better if you had shown us how to ... 1. take of the cover of the centre housing, and 2. how to adjust the handbrake cable. Other than that, all you did was show is WHERE to find the place to do the job.

Just done this! All good until I dropped one of the T30 Torx bolts into the engine bay, it didn’t hit the floor so it’s lost forever! Now I need to buy a new one, it’s one from the flexi pipe at the front right, anyone know the size?

Excellent step by step guide, changed mine no problem. Got the replacement part from Amazon £190. Garage was going to drop the engine to replace, so this video saved me ££££'s So many thanks. You look a little like the actor Simon Pegg by the way😁.

Hi I'm thinking of cleaning rather than replacing, but the gasket between the Cooler section and the main valve body isnt part of any set of gaskets that I can find. Even tried my local motor factors. Can you usually re-use the existing or can they be obtained?

I changed mine yesterday thanks to this video. The only thing I did different was remove the pipe round the back to access bolt. Because I couldn’t on it. I have very little mechanical experience so thank you very much. Just one question. I reset the EML light, do I still need to get it plugged in and formatted?

Great Video thanks for sharing over 4 years ago. Can i ask when you say 'Adapt it back in' Do you mean just follow the VCDS instructions you included in the video to code it in? Sorry just want to know what Adapt back in means. Also did you torque the screws back in or just screw back in firmly? Thanks
@thegarage22693 жыл бұрын
screw back in firm and yes just follow the vcds, thats what i mean by adapt.

Hey David, did you torque back up the screws when putting new EGR in? If so do you recall what the torque settings are or know where they are to view? Thanks
@davidthorold52383 жыл бұрын
@@bolanos68 No! the 2 easier to access bolts on the left were only hand tight , I've had the van from new so its definitely been like that from new , it would be awkward to get a torque wrench in id say , I sort of felt the pressure and did my best to replicate it , the 13mm nuts on to the exhaust were tight as they compress a gasket , so I gave them abit more, the little aluminium pipe on the right was the least tight , it has a little rubber O ring on. go for it, you will be very proud when your done. be patient get on the screw heads nice and square when freeing them off .
@bolanos683 жыл бұрын
@@davidthorold5238 Thanks David. Its arrived so plan on fitting asap. Can I ask did you get somebody to come out and VCDS it once fitted? Or did you drive it to someone who has it? Reason i ask is I am trying to gauge how safe it is to drive without VCDS'ing it first..
@davidthorold52383 жыл бұрын
@@bolanos68 morning , the van is in right now , I have a exhaust sensor being done today and ive asked them to adapt the egr back in for me , it drives fine though ,ive only done 20miles in it since I replaced it, but it seems better , I figured it would be ok as mine has been playing up for some time , numerous garages ive spoken too advised me to delete it which surprises me ,I look at every T5.1 now that smokes and suspect foul play.My engine light came on( egr fault) whilst I was in Cornwall in July and I drove it home 350 miles no drama.. I let you know what happens later.
