MCI is interpreted by the BBS, not the terminal so you should be fine.

@@WyMustIGo Yep. £c2 just tells the BBS to send the single character that is equivalent to PETSCII chr$(28), which according to all emulators, is the color red.

As of this morning, it was working. Make sure it's not being blocked by something. Mine was.

7.37 goes as fast as 2400 baud, while 8.0 supports Swiftlink. However in my opinion, 8.0 is technically not Color64 since it is not compatible with any prior version. (but you know what they say about opinions...)

I mean the bbs is down, i wanted to download the software over terminal. Ive been trying to setup various bbs systems but I think my issue is related to the tcpser and the bbs software, im trying various things but not clear on the vice settings for tcpser

You probably have not been validated. I know that the person who owns it was in a serious accident a while back, and not sure their recovery.

Minute values over 60 and any numerical value above 255 will kill it. I'm considering rewriting that configuration module, or at the very least provide an offline configurator.

I didn't either. Just sorta happened when I figured out how to do something and though "ah, why not share it in a form that I frequently go to when I have questions about something".

If you are using the latest build of Winvice you have to make sure the Lt Kernal emulation is off. There is a a memory conflict at $DE00. This tutorial was shot on v3.1

I got it to work if anybody is interested. I used the version at: csdb.dk/release/?id=171299&show=summary and my .bat file looks like: tcpser -v 25232 -s 38400 -p 6400 -l 4

Try the address on a PC and compare the results. By it offering an "OK" when you type AT means that you've set it up correctly. Also make sure you don't backspace at all during the command. If you don't type it correctly the first time before pressing enter, scrap the line and type it again. Make sure there are no spaces between the address, the colon, and the port.

You probably have your answer by now, but for the searcher - I use the version of tcpser here and it works: csdb.dk/release/?id=171299&show=summary On a side note... something may have changed in Vice 3.4 because in ccgms ultimate I had to leave the modem as User Port 300-2400 instead of Swift/Turbo. And you can't use host names in the atdt command. Just ping the BBS host name to get the IP address and use that instead: 68.52.141.220:6400

should be just like any other file. Download it to any folder of your choosing. The file extension is "d64" which is a C64 floppy image that contains commodore files. It has to be loaded into a virtual 1541 in WinVice usually to drive #8. Beware that a d64 file loaded into winvice and then has any files added or deleted during the session will behave as if it is a real floppy. Change anything on the virtual floppy in winvice and the next time you load the d64 it will reflect those changes. If you are unsure, make a copy of the d64 and load that one in so you dont lose the original.(I learned that one the hard way)
