Excellent video with lots of good information about the bike. I'm looking at a 1999 year ZX9R that has been stored for the last 14 years. It will have to go to the bike shop for a check-over. Any specific concerns? I image there is no service history. The seller mentions a race tire on the front. I think it may haver been raced. Definitely will be checking that out as I would not want a bike that has been raced. Subscribed!

With the turquoise streaks going up the side of the fairing and tail unit?... If so, I have the same colour scheme on my 2000 e1 9r.

I have now my second zx9r e1. After 20 years away from bikes I'm back on the seat. Raw power. Like the Lambo of bikes.

Your last bike before this ZX9R was the Honda VFR800???? Yes! That was my last bike too. Now I'm looking at one of these 1st-gen ZX9Rs because I've always loved them too. As a former VFR800 owner, what are the main differences between this bike and that bike? What are the main similarities?

I don't know, for £2.5k you're probably not going to lose anything. Suspect you've got more bike than the speed triple right there. I'd keep it

This would be much more apples to apples if you had a dead cat on the H1 as well. Hard to compare when the h1 is wrapped in microfiber and the H4 has a proper dead cat

Got an E1 myself just 24k on the clock, had 18 k when I got it three years ago, I've upgraded the brake hoses with a total caliper refurb,K&N filters ,Powerbronze screen, Renthal sprockets and decent rubber ..... There's nothing I'd swap it for 😎

From Denmark, Hi there, cool MC, I myself have a ZX9R from 1994, the first model. It has driven 39,000 miles and runs fine. I regret that I didn't know the difference between the first ones and those that came in 1998, From 1998 it will be completely rebuilt and lose 32kg+ many other improvements are being made. Had I known, I wouldn't have bought a 1994 model. I have tried a 1999 model and it is a completely different MC to ride than my old tank. Have now had it for 7 years and never want to get rid of it. Mine is green and black, and with a black frame, so it's very nice.

Lovely road, but you should work on that choppy throttle hand and cornering in particular. Look forward to finally riding this next year! Did it loads when I was younger but in a car.

I have a zx12r now but I used to have a 2000 zx9r an I absolutely loved it, never missed a beat, handled great and never had a problem keeping up with the more modern sports bikes. The zx9r was an underrated bike, I was gutted when I sold it on
