Hello, I had a question for you. I noticed that the left ear, and a part of the snout is still a bit dark… For my type of application when using depth maps. I would like to be able to dial down the ear and parts of the snout, so that they’re not quite as dark as they appear in your finished depth map. The problem I’m having is that I don’t seem to find any control that I can latch onto for being more specific in affecting the darkness and light of specific areas of the depth map. I was wondering if it’s possible (for example) to have a depth map (for example) for the head… And another for the tail Etc.? In this scenario, maybe I would keep my 3-D model in separate parts and not join them all together or, for example, I would join all the parts of the body and not join the head to the body. Whereby I would create a depth map for the head, and then a separate depth map for the body. And then try to make adjustments to the head so that it’s not quite as contrasty and more harmony with the lightness and brightness of the overall body. I do not make stereograms, but I work with lenticular Art, and having an accurate depth maps is something that’s very useful for me. Any ideas you could share I would appreciate. Lastly, I don’t know how blender chooses the darkness for the specific areas…but in general the contrast between the closest and furthest away areas seems to be set. Meaning, that which is closest (in a traditional depth map in Blende..) is VERY bright and that which is furthest is close to black. Getting some control over the default brightness and darkness that Blender chooses for these extreme areas of the 3-D scene of which my model is in would be helpful. Would you know anything about how to control these defaults?
@3dsf5 ай бұрын
Hey Saru, Lenticular images, that's cool. I understand wanting to target different depth regions and I have written some python to help me adjust them by setting variables. I'd prefer to continue this conversation on Reddit, I am 3dsf there. Could you ask it on the r/depthmaps subreddit?

Stereograms feel like some sort of visual encryption method
@3dsf7 ай бұрын
Yeah, kinda neat. It could be a way of obscuring information from an automated scanning method. I have seen various methods of decryption, but the scanning methods would have to identify the image as something to be solved.

Hello, I want to know the acquired depth image, is the depth information stored in the pixel? If not, how to obtain the depth map whose value in the pixel is the value from the camera?
@3dsf11 ай бұрын
Yeah relative distance. If you add up int8 rgb values and devide by 255*3 you will have your relative distance. Or if you add r, g, and b as floats and devide by one.

@@3dsf Can the depth image be saved as png directly from blender? If possible, how to save it? I am using blender 3 version. Also, is it possible to save the depth image and rgb image of the same frame? I have been researching for a few days but have not saved it successfully. Could you please teach me? Thank you so much
@3dsf11 ай бұрын
@@ShihanChao yes the sum of the RGB values is the depth value. To save an image I think it is : shift s while mouse is over the output image. Or to automate it, you can set up a saved image photo folder in the nodes flow.

This is what I call doubling, essentially your eyes are going one pattern repeat to far. If you are on your phone, try on a bigger screen or with practice you can force the correct image. Many of my images are prone to doubling. Check out work by @3dimka, there images are less prone to doubling.

I was very confused until I realized the resolution was set to 480p. Stereograms are really wack at low res.
@thebowstaffkid5908 Жыл бұрын
the way i do it is i go a moderate distance from my monitor (max res, 0.5 feet) and then either rapidly move my eyes side to side, making them blur OR relaxxxing them and making them blur.
