That is all very well if you are using the Generic Microsoft drivers that come with windows to get you started, if, like in your example, for a 1050 you should be using the drivers for the 1050 from Nvidia (Nvidia Control Panel), or for AMD users, the most recent Catalyst package. At best, Microsoft drivers are YEARS out of date. When you "Search for new drivers" you are merely searching for new drivers created and issued by Microsoft, not necessarily the optimized drivers from your card's vendor. Same with Motherboards, Microsoft distributes basic drivers to get you started, but what you need to do is get the latest Motherboard drivers from your vendor. I know you covered that at the end, but you dont need to "Search for new" before loading the vendor drivers, as the old Microsoft ones will be overwritten.
