there's always lemons. what have you seen that makes you think they're no good? I've had about 4 uppers and they've all worked great.
@mournofthedove5 ай бұрын
From what I understand...they use that internal clip with the charging handle because the charging handle channels gas to the handle and out the holes on the handle ends. You can see the holes briefly when he is trying to pull the handle out. The handle stays stationary relying on the inner clip to attach. A hinged handle could disrupt the gas exiting the holes. Personally I think I would make a change as well and toss in a Geissele SCH
@3is23 сағат бұрын
that's an interesting observation! I'll swap handles and try that out.

I literally just bought the Hydroflask slingback yesterday to replace my Patagonia Atom. The big thing I didn't like about the Atom is the divider in the main compartment because I felt that it took up half the space. If it didn't have the divider then it would've been a much better bag IMO.

Hi, with your 2 weeks of Hydro Flask, which one do you prefer for what reason) ? Hydro or Patagonia? thanks
@3is23 сағат бұрын
for me, i've personally liked having that divider on trip where I can slide flat things in the back like my passport and such w/o concerns it being folded under other items. So far I haven't found a "small" sling bag with as much main compartment storage as the atom.

This was actually very helpful to me as I'm in the midst of a sling bag hunt in the same general size range. My top picks currently are The North Face Borealis sling, the Patagonia Atom sling, and this Hydro Flask Slingback sling. For my specific use, I require an exterior pocket or pouch that will fit a pair of work gloves that tend to be on the dirtier side, and the bottle pouch actually seems kind of great for that once I mod some kind of closure / fastener to the opening. The organization of this bag seems perfect. Your comment about comfort does give me a lot of pause though, and where I find the Borealis and Atom much more appealing is they are generally regarded as very comfortable and with something like a phone in that strap pocket they tend to balance well; without use of the auxiliary strap, the slip pocket on the main strap just isn't sufficient to use for balancing a load on your back. Noting that you have and like your Atom sling, have you tried any other similar slings? Any other comparisons you can make? For my use, I'm looking for something to dump the stuff from my pockets into safely while having a memobottle a6 (flatter water bottle), a packable rain jacket, sunglasses case, the aforementioned work gloves, and whatever small odds and ends I end up carrying for my kids (snags, hand towel, small toys, etc). No tablets or anything like that.

So I have used a couple of "Sling packs" that were much larger and cumbersome (read as "Do not recommend"). For the money, I haven't tried anything else in the Atom's size that has done what the Atom does better. I have resorted to using a normal 2 strap backpack/hydration pack and dealing with the extra heat from it when I want to carry my 24oz or larger bottles now.

I have the same dilema :) The North Face Borealis sling, the Patagonia Atom sling, the Hydro Flask Slingback and the Camelback Arete Sling... Which one did you chose ? I think my best one would have been the north face but in 8L...
@3is7 ай бұрын
@ hope you found one that you liked. Out of the 4 you mentioned. I tried 3. The Atom still keeps coming out the winner. I've been looking at the nalgene cantene collapsible bottles as an alternative collapsible solution for space saving.

Rumor has it that the 816 was actually based off the Sig Sauer 516 because Sig sold them the design, which is why they discontinued making the 516. Being an owner of a Sig 516, I can’t help but notice the similarities between the two. But, that’s just what I’ve heard.
@3is Жыл бұрын
Does the 516 have the elevated rail or internal latched charging handle or OTB features?

Very underrated. It is actually the successor as both engineers wanted to fix the issues that the 416 had. Sadly I wished they give us the quad rail version instead of mlok. But I’m old fashioned

Great point at the end of the video regarding Glock discharges via the holster. I love Glocks too (I have 3 of them), but the statistics don't lie. I have a HKP2000 SK w/LEM trigger and really like this pistol, i.e., the LEM trigger is like no other DA trigger. A revelation. Consequently, I am considering a HK P2000 as well, but I want one with the decocker, despite loving my HK PK2 SK with the LEM trigger. Besides wanting to experience one with a normal DA/SA configuration, it's also the only one available at my LGS. Working on a discount for this pistol, so hoping I can get it by the end of this week. Outstanding review. Thank you.
@michaelmulholland35045 ай бұрын
Keep in mind that if you decide you would rather have LEM after buying the DA/SA, that it can't be reconfigured like it can on the USP series.

I know this is an older video but do you know how this compares to the Scar16? I’m looking at both the scar and CZ 11” right now.
@3is Жыл бұрын
sorry for the delay. I think the SCAR is a superior gun. They both use a heavier bolt setup. Trigger is better on the bren but the SCAR just handles recoil beautifully for faster followup shots. I did find that the guns recoil somewhat similar but the scar is softer.

I sent my HK45c off to Rick at Lazy Wolf, and he does wonders with that trigger. Highly recommend the MRAP package! It is possible to use the HK45 mag release on the p2000 if you wish to have a larger mag release.

Have you tried a CZ Bren 805 before? If so, is the CZ Bren 2 that much better where it would be worth upgrading from the 805? Thanks!
@3is4 жыл бұрын
I have shot the Bren 805. It is a great gun but to me the Bren 2 is such a big jump in design that it really shouldn't be considered in the same category of carbine. Hopefully someone can loan me one so I can do a more accurate comparison on camera. They both shoot the same caliber and they are both great guns but I could say the same thing about the FN FAL and the SCAR 17 in terms of handling and ergonomics. One is an improvement over the other with respect to what came before it.
