Will your rear disc brake conversion also work with the big wheel conversion or do you recommend keeping the stock drum brake for the big rear wheel?

I really don't like how the adapter is secured on the shock absorber aluminum leg. This shock absorber was designed for a drum brake and it will never be OK for the disc brake. It would be much better to replace whole left shock absorber leg and use factory mounted brake caliper and original mounting system. The solution in video will fail. The clamp on the adapter looks sick and it even doesn't use self locking nuts which is not acceptable on brakes. It will never be aligned perfectly. The adapter in the drum is sick as well as it has not any support in the drum from sides, it only holds on the bolts in thin aluminum wheel and these were not designed to withstand braking forces. I smell catastrophic failure sooner or later.

I will work on the front installation video. Yes the 26 will work on the front but just like the rear, it is very tight and would definitely require a high fender mount.

Bradley i hope soon you start working on a front tire workaround on a tubeless system. HI Bradley ! I have a question about using your Cam Sprocket( I have purchased one from you) Just curious in the ( 4-deg. retarded mode ) on a stock or slightly modded engine. Is it possible that a TW would get better fuel milage in a retarded mode, start easier at altitude, and have better power at "specifically" put-put speeds?. I haven't experimented with it yet. I just haven't heard you speak much about the "retarded" mode's possible benefit moving that power around. I would be interested in your thoughts. I do think it would obviously hurt top speed power, but a friend & I pull trailers with our TWs. The one I use for that is a ttr230 conversion 6 speed, bighorn tire, Ext swingarm+4". A true Frankin Dub! The other is mostly stock with street tires , small rear-sprocket 45-t. I love them both! I am going to experiment with this cam-sprocket on my bikes. Sorry I missed your live cast. I enjoy your vids and creativity. That rear wheel/tire mod is winner. A lot less trouble than what I have to deal with using a stock rim,(Regarding flat repair, ease of maintenance. Danger in mounting etc..), Seems like a good value to me. Thanks for the hard work getting there! Oh, I run cartridge emulators on BOTH my Dubs. It so true what you said about the difference. It's amazing what a TW can do in the hands of a sand-bagging expert rider! (Okay, You are very humble so I just had to say it!!) Ha ha ! Great Story BTW. I know some riders like that too. I'm not fast, but admire them that are, (Re: those sand bagging experts in disguise.) Warm Regards and Ride Well ! Jimbo
@bradleyperformanceproducts2 ай бұрын
I absolutely encourage you to play with it. Generally speaking advancing the cam 4 degrees will lower the torque curve about 200 rpm. Retarding will move the torque curve up about 200 rpm. Depending on your riding style and usage, you might like it one way better than the other.
@jamescarter38832 ай бұрын
@@bradleyperformanceproducts Copy that. I think I heard you say that you advanced that sprocket on your install video. So I'm possibly confused. So IF I want to move to lower speed lower RPM power range I need to put the sprocket on with the "+" side out actually advancing the cam timing. This allows the intake valve to close "earlier" & at lower RPM & be more efficient. I think I have it. (Or Not ! Haha!) What ever, ,,,I will do some seat of the pants dyno work.It is so easy to change, I could do it on a campout in about 15 minutes. Very cool tool. Thanks Mr.Bradley. Ride Well!

You got it. You would probably prefer to advance the cam using the + side out.

I have a kid to live for 😂 I was extremely reckless in my youth on my gsxf gsxr and Vulcan 1500 surprisingly a bad ass fun to ride bike. I'm going to stay under 300cc and it's purpose is going to be finding the trails and exploring the national parks of Texas only on road time will be traveling to the trails. Dear Bradley, Been Riding Since Minibikes back in the 60's. My First Motorcycle, Yamaha 125 AT2 "1972" Enduro. So I could license bike to ride roads to our trails. Up graded with Knobby Tires, Expansion Chamber 2 Stoked Ring-A-Ding, Notice Front Would "Wash Out" Not Handle Well. Front & Rear Tires 18". What I Did To Improve Handling: New Aluminum 21" Rim & Knobby Tire. Yamaha Shop Respoke New Rim To My Front Hub & Installed. Then Motorcycle Handle Great, Off & On Road. One Thing I Can See Wrong With With Stock Yamaha TW200 Is This Problem You Discuss With Front Fork Rake. Glad You Have Fix. Another Problem Is The Front Fender Mounted Low Right Over Tire. My Old Yamaha Also Was Like That. Riding Through "Gumbo Mud" Stuck To Front Tire And Stop Wheel From Turning, Due To Mud Between Tire And Front Fender. Fix By Installing "Preston Petty Fender" High Mounted MX Style Fender. I still ride Dirt Motorcycles & ATV's. Will Probably Buy Yamaha TW200 & Buy Your "Big Wheel Kit" Sincerely. [email protected]

Best thing anyone can do for your TW200 is just get a 17 or 18 inch rear rim and 19 inch front. The bike will fix the largest of rear knobby and a 19 inch front open ups a big selection of front knobby tires. Mt buddy did this and it’s a Huge improvement for the bike and doesn’t rob any power like those ATV tires.

Don't know too many people who would get excited about 2-3 hp increase... other than Tdub owners ha ha.... thats a big boost percentage wise. This coupled with an oil cooler and some mild tires might be the ticket for the highway and moto camping riders, or the bobber builders. Would be interesting to see how well this would perform on extended highway runs with properly tuned fueling/air/exhaust. Personally I rarely get over 45mph ha ha.

Dude, that is crazy good gains that you can get out of the bike. I like how you explain what will the outcome of the mods will be. Thanks for bringing out what all the TW folks have been asking for over the years!
