Was this causing your reservoir tank to not pressurize?

Cool van, nice tinker video, If you have any questions on it, you can ask me, I have a small collection of these van, On 64 thru 66 they was all 6cyl engine, 67 thru 70 a v8 was available, make sure you have the v8 doghouse thou, also all the vans up to 70 were drum brakes, 71 had disc, but there is a conversion kit for disc brakes, drum brake stuff is plentiful if needing parts, Just a note, 6 cylinder chevy didn't have a chain on timing, they were gear driven. Have fun with it, 😊

If you put the 23 coil springs (53-54) in the hood hinges, you won't need the prop...I'm assuming it has the originally installed 28 coil springs now. By 1961 Chevrolet was calling for the 23 coil springs across the board (49-54).

I owned one of these in 1977.. i purchased it in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.. i loved that car, and being British at the time did not understand what a rare gem i had. Thanks for the memory. Interestingly, mine had an inline 6 cylinder engine, was black with black interior, and had grandprix/USA metal badges on the front lower fender area. Anyone know more about these cars, id be interested in being ponted to a club or website.

I'm in a similar situation as my '46 Ford flatty has well of 300 thousand miles on it and has sat for quite a while. What solvent did you use to flush the engine of oil sludge? Great video and hope to see how the '47 turns out.

That’s a rebuilt engine, new pistons new valves probably new Babbitt on the bottom It doesn’t even show ring stick. That’s just a tight engine.

I just did this with my golf cart tires. How long did these last you? Have they turned yellow? I've heard of others' turning yellow. Just curious. Great video! That 1/4" tape is a game changer! I tried using thicker tape, but it was horrible! After I saw your video I bought the thinner tape, and it worked perfectly!

How long did the paint job last? With these homemade spray jobs, I'm concerned you're going to have to scrub the white walls to keep them clean and white, which is going to be a bit of abrasion on your paint job and make it start to flake or peel off eventually. If you never had to clean them, okay, it might last longer... but... being white and all, and on the tire which is right down near the dirt and ocassional mud or mud puddle...

If you want to learn how to do it yourself I just watched “Bluecollar garage” channel with a fully detailed way to do it. Also I went with the aluminum oil Filter and cooler housing unit from Dorman not the plastic Mopar OEM they have better quality

I found that these make a terrible squeaking sound while driving, that sound is significantly reduced with the rubber "bumpers" but not eliminated. The problems Jeff discusses are real and unavoidable. If you are buying these, pay the extra for the clipless ones. The clips are $4.50 EACH (times 20 for the 55 or 25 for the 56 =$115) and I had a 20% failure rate as they bend the wrong way and must be discarded. Pluss I loose a couple every time I air up the tires. The pain frustration and expense must be close to what women experience with high heals. But if you want the look...

Beautiful car! Your comment about it not being a Pontiac is confusing. As you held up the historical document it states that it is a Pontiac Beaumont. Secondly the VIN # is for a Pontiac of Canada vehicle. I know half the people out there say that because it does't say Pontiac anywhere on the vehicle and that the emblems are different from any other Ponchos it makes it not a Pontiac.
