You may wanna try Krita, DaVinciResolve, Blender, Inkscape and a ton of Open-Source alternatives out there. I never used Adobe; instead I'm quite used to Krita and Inkscape and I've been able to do a ton of stuff adobe users and colleagued do.

As soon as they went subscription, I went elsewhere. Have been enjoying Serif products ever since.

I stopped being their customer over 10 years ago, them stopping to sell the software and DEMANDING monthly pay that would FORCE one to buy it was the point for me... the monthly pay was also more expensive than buying a version of the software. With buying it, it was EXPENSIVE to buy, but then you decided IF and WHEN you would upgrade... it gave a choice. BYE ADOBE - you continue with your greed!

At the end of the day, if someone installs Adobe on a machine and then that machine remains -offline- without connectivity. There is no data transfer because Adobe can be utilized offline... That being said, people that are concerned should be able to simply take the machine offline, do their photo work, and then put it back online after the program is closed. I hope that data is only transferred while the program is running, afterall..

premiere taught me how to edit. Videopad is a competent replacement. The trial version removes some tiny features like unlinking audio tracks and it bugs you for a license when you go to render, but other than that it's a suitable FREE replacement. I like NCH so much I may end up paying for it when I am able because they treated me well as a customer

I didn't even realize they originally had clauses "when you upload" and "as needed in response to user driven actions", the fact they removed these entirely, then added terms to say they could use almost anything however they wanted, shows there true intentions. Finally they were stupid enough to then come out and say "your just misunderstanding" before putting terms in that were as explicit as they were originally in 2020 just shows how disingenuous they are. Having known a company where 95% of the staff didn't know where more than 60% of the revenue came from, (they were most likely kept in the dark on purpose), so they could lie through omission to potential customers about core business alignments. I can honestly say probably 95% of the people at adobe probably have no idea what is either going on or what all the fuss is about. Now however after watching you unpack this they damn well should know what happened and if they can't make their company take real responsibility instead of gas lighting it's customers, maybe it would be a good time to move to another company more aligned with their individual values.

I never bought any license for any of the Adobe products, nor did I ever subscribe to their ridiculous cloud. I only use hac*ed versions of their products. They will not get my money and they will not get my content. Ever. Sue me.

Remember: PIRACY IS A VALID FORM OF PROTEST. Companies LOVE to claim piracy is stealing bc "is illegal and immoral and you'll go to jail", but changing the terms and do legal stuff to scam users to get licenses is COMPLETE OK and provides them legal permission to train AI models to make (human) artist obsolete (and save some money).

I think those terms are actually illegal. No company can make terms that make you stand worse than the law.

It would also make it illegal to use other paid assets you purchase. If I buy a stock image, only I have the rights to that. If I use Photoshop, Adobe thinks they own the rights now and now I just illegally misused the stock image.

I see a lot of hate pointed at the IT sector here. I'd like to say that most of the actual hardcore IT people are pro-privacy, pro-security, and pro-ownership. I doubt anybody with significant software development repertoire stood at the helm of this decision. At worst it's people who just want to earn a paycheck and didn't want to stand up to this. You could blame those people, but focusing on them but its the management you should target first

I am so happy i got out of adobe two years ago.. i used it since 1999 and threw about 30.000€ after them.. for private use. But i ever knew they where a bunch of blood suckers. Latest since CS2.... but now this was really enough!
