Just bought a MF 1835E hydro for and looking at a snow pusher. Is a 7ft pusher to much for this tractor? Looking for the voice(s) of experience.

I believe I was on the border with 40hp. It handles it well, this year I decided to NOT install the backhoe for rear weight. That makes a big difference tbh. Traction yes, but also in countering the weight of this pusher. It takes the weight off the front axel basically. I would still say it’s fully operable without the backhoe, you just always need 4x4 engaged whereas before I would only engage it in 1ft and above (or super heavy wet snow maybe). Horsepower concerns? 35 gets below what I was told the threshold was for this pusher. Also to remember Hydro drives don’t get that HP to the wheels, some gets robbed vs. gear driven models that concur most of that hp to the wheels. To note, my 1740m is hydro also so I’m not getting nearly that 40 either at the wheels. So if it’s weight your concerned with, you could still go with the 7ft but in the lower profile. True it won’t be as tall/high to push real deep snow, but it will cut the weight of the pusher dramatically. Just some thoughts to ponder, you wanna do this right the first time. Good luck, let us know with what you went with and how you think it preforms! KJ Miller (WhereTWONext travel channel)

Spent 4 days exploring New Bern this past Spring doing some due diligence before making a decision to move there from Vero Beach, FL. Looking to get back to enjoying the 4 seasons from my 20 years in the north Ga. mountains. Just can't take the heat here in FL all year round. When it's 80 in mid-January, no fun. I liked the fact that the downtown Farmers' Market is year round on Saturday. Enjoyed visiting while I was in town. I spent quite a bit of time looking at Fairfield Harbor and they have some very weird zoning there with sizes of homes allowed. I've built my McMansion and wanted to downsize to a cute ranch plan but lots are limited. A lot of lots in the flood zones, meaning you'll need flood insurance and possibly building the finished floor well above grade, which is not cheap. The other thing I didn't like was the distance from the community to drive over to New Bern where there is a lot of shopping on MLK, Jr. Blvd. It's over 6 miles just to drive up to the exciting Food Lion and another 4 to 5 miles to most shopping. The older section of FH were the golf course is abandoned was downright depressing. The other section looked much better. Not too keen about the $ 98/month HOA fee, which can be used for other budget items. I had heard that the water/sewer rates are expensive. I'm looking at the River Bend area off of Bus 17, which is about a 5 minute drive from the new Harris Teeter, Publix, Aldi and Walmart.

I just ordered a 1835m cab but was planning to order with turf tires . I hear they work better on snow ice and hard packed ground better than R4s. What’s your thoughts ? Any regrets on the turf tires ? Would you go turf next time again ? Physically they appear a bit smaller on the tractor . I live in Minnesota and plan to use for similar plowing as well and yard maintenance (loader work l, not so much mowing ) any advice is welcome 🙏
@WhereTwoNext
@WhereTwoNext 2 жыл бұрын
Great Question, Empirical ! I've had plenty of hours on tractors plowing at my store, they all had Ag-traction tires. Then for my home (prior to the Massey 1740M) I purchased a Case International (27hp) and planned to primarily Mow with that, so I ordered it with Turf Tires. I then added a plow to it and was surprised at how good it did, albeit I didn't have loaded tires or any back weight or ballast. So long story wrapped up here is that when buying the Massey I wanted to again mow w an underbelly mower, which meant I had to go with the tad smaller turf tires (so the 72" belly mower could fit between the F & B tires). I told the dealer no problem!, I think the tires will be fine in the winter and this was much to his surprise. So yes, I would order Turf tires again but I'm not sure they are actually better than Ag? (Since I can't do a A/B comparison on the same tractor). BUT... I'm kinda thinking they might be, but in real deep snow, may be a different story I don't know? hmmm... -KJ

Hi GyraGearloose-HackingRVsCheap I went out and tried it again, it worked (for me) by pressing the 8 and then lock at the same time.? Any suggestions on how to get both fobs to work at the same time? Thanks

@Watts On Wheels First off greetings!, I've seen a couple of your videos when searching HDT's. Very informative and helpful (I believe it was "what ya doing now, Dave"?) I Loved that line and then seeing Dave with sweat on his forehead changing a brake drum etc. Priceless! I was going to purchase a new VNL 860 Globetrotter this year and have RVLifestyles do the conversion, but prices have just gone completely nuts! Sorry for the rant, but you guys are great. So the one thing that was unique is/was that I had to press and hold the lock button on the fob and then indent that little button on the inside of the lock, and for both FOBs. I'm sure you know this already, so now you have me wondering?.... Our 5th wheel is in storage (our pole barn) and I'll go out and see if both FOBs still work... as it's been about a Month since I did the installation. TBC....

That's impressive that your tractor has the ability to push all that snow with the 30" high box. I'm looking at purchasing a 24" high box for my 45hp tractor. It's over 500 pounds. What kind of weight do you think I need on the 3pt hitch?

@John Barth Yeah you are in snow country for sure, I have a good friend who lives in Eden and owns/runs Clydes Feeds in Hamburg. That lake effect especially when Lake Eire is still warm is a snow making machine!. I remember Jim getting 8ft on one drop overnight, I believe about 4 years ago. Unbelievable. If you get that box from Express Steel along with your already loaded tires, you'll be fine, and pretty much any front blade or pusher you go with. And, that 8ft I talked about^ would be approachable, you'd have to just step it off and chunk it away (of course), and hopefully get some of it during the actual drop.
