This one felt closer to Untitled Goose Game more than it did Stray and I'm more than okay with that. Fun relaxing little game that my kids enjoyed watching me play and also wanted to get their hands on!

Dayum, I noticed in the Marvel Rivals trailer-reveal section around 26:30, they actually wrote Loki and Hela's names IN THE ELDER FUTHARK ALPHABET. And like, not the way Cyrillic is used in English-language titles "for flavor" just based on visuals, they did it RIGHT! Which suggests at least a smidgeon of respect for the culture that first imagined them up, which is nice to see. :) (Obligatory statement that I have read summaries of the Eddas, and I know Hela is Loki's daughter, not his older sister, etc etc.)

All the things said about it mechanically sounds pretty appealing, but it looks a little more gruesome than I think I personally would like? I hope it does well.

It'd be great to get a high budget immersive sim cat (or any small, cute animal, really) game. Something with a ton to do, top notch animation, some wonderful mechanics, and physics engine, etc.

This is a definite buy on sale for me.

Leaving aside the Racoon/Tanuki gaffe - which is even addressed in game - a review I can totally get behind and can add only: I wish Stray had also been more like this. And yes, it's far too short, leading many to gripe about the price. Then again, I thought, how much are movie tickets nowadays *before* you throw in the snacks? <currency> per minute, LKBC still wins out, at least with our cinemas.

The thought of eating fish to grow your stamina bar is making me think of Shadow of the Colossus. And the cat itself is making me think of Nick Nocturne. Also, I'm having a WEIRD time tonight. First I compare the chaos of Taiwanese parliament to that one Street Fighter II book that's basically Street Fighter Where's Wally?, then I see an image of a drunk guy looking like E Honda while Mister Clean approaches like an anime villain, and now I see a Street Fightery brawl on one of the arcade machines in the video. I don't know why my night has suddenly ambushed me with Street Fighter serendipity, but I'll try to vibe with it rather than escape into the waves again. (by vibe with it, I mean mix Kraken Roast Coffee with Bailey's)

If you want something else to play that hits all the same notes as LKBC, try "Lil Gator Game". LKBC feels like such a spiritual successor to that that it's previously a sequel. 😸

The developer roadmap for upcoming features to Crow Country is pretty much: "Add a hard mode", coming "soon". I might wait for that!
