Mam please tell, working hours of resident doctors in aus
@j6453Күн бұрын
I can relate! I thought "no big deal, I'll just make new friends!" First of all, that has proven harder than I thought. And, even when you make friends, it's not the same as having old friends you've known for 1-30 years. You just can't replicate all that history easily. Plus, being from a different culture, I just always felt different.

Cozy weekend vibes. By the way, your cut flowers will look better if you strip off all of the leaves below the flowers themselves :)

So basically, even at the top of your game you will still be working almost every hour of your life just to see the top dollar on your wage slip. Brutal.

I know I just commented something similar on another of your videos, but I just wanted to thank you again for taking the time to compile and share your experiences on here. Not having any physicians in my family means I only really have the internet and forums like reddit to refer to, which isn't always representative. Following your ups and downs is really helping me open my mindset on how things can go! I'm feeling more excited about pursuing medicine :3

Hi Surina. I have quite a specific question if that is okay! I am in my. final year in a UK medical school but would like to go back to Australia (I've got Australian citizenship) as soon as possible. Would I be able to come over straight for internship? (aka not doing FY1/2 in the UK) and if so how would I do it?? Would I also be classed as an IMG?
@drsurinataneja4 күн бұрын
Not sure what the rules are if you've got Aus citizenship - probably best to reach out to some hospitals in Aus and ask but I suspect you still need GMC licence if you're qualifying in the UK

Hello taneja. Your honest reviews are really appreciated. It helps us to overcome many hurdles. I request you to help me with this. I completed my internship in india. I am interested in doing specialisation in general medicine. I need to know about the time and efforts taken to become a resident in Australia. I would be really helpful for all of us. Thank you and wish you good luck.

I lived in Brisbane for 8 years. Horrible place and people. So glad i left that place and that country. Disrespectful supremacists. They're friendliness is superficial and it will be the same for you as you're a person of colour. People just like to paper over the cracks in that dense and controlled society

Great vid but you forgot to add non reimbursed fees for GMC, indemnity, travel to rotational training posts. Then time outside of work studying for post grad exams & the expense for them… could go on and on

This has really opened my eyes to the realities in medicine because I’ve heard so much about the training extra exams but this vid has allowed me to actually witness and see what it is like especially “ off the clock “ which shadowing and work experience doesn’t show

I honeslty dont know why any one wants to be in any care profession. Other peoples problems are not yours or mine and their health issues are usually down to their own crap life style choices and failures. On the other side of the coin if you claim you "care and want to help people" only then go on strike and complain about the financial rewards you say you deserve then that doesnt wash at all. "i want to help people" is a common phrase i hear but if you really want to then you have no rights to complain about money, end of otherwise its i want to help people but only at a price. The health service is not a charity and workers deserve good pay but at the same time i dont want to hear how these doctors care when they really dont and honestly thats ok.

wasn't expecting to see chesterfield here! i'm a med student and my first rotation was surgery there and i absolutely loved it. thanks for this video, its really useful to see what surgical training actually entails as someone who is interested. i feel like so many doctors discourage women from pursuing surgery from the get go, so thank you for documenting your journey!

thanks doc for the informative video❤. asking about the teaching section, I am still a medical student and have teached different college lectures on different subjects with my collegues for more than a year now(every month I do one lecture which is consistent with formal feedback on each lecture) but no local tutors "actual doctors" are involved. So how many points would I get on that ?
@drsurinataneja2 ай бұрын
I would say to read the portfolio wording very carefully - if it says needs local tutors then without that it would not get the points. You will only get points if you satisfy all the wording/requirements states
@ziadsamir69612 ай бұрын
@@drsurinataneja thanks doc a lot❤️. So to make it clear, the word "local tutors" means actual lecturers "doctors" who are licensed by the college and not students?
@ziadsamir6961Ай бұрын
@@drsurinataneja thanks again for your precious time. My dad is an orthopaedic consultant,who is a local tutor, can we arrange teaching programmes together on youtube and I get the full amount of points?

In common with all professions these conferences are a grossly inefficient way of transmitting info. What could be communicated on 4 pages of A4 takes all day. The benefits of getting away and the oportunity to raise questions are valid but verbal presentations are a drag. To have intelligent professionals sitting cheek by jowl for hour after hour is crazy.
@drsurinataneja2 ай бұрын
I've quite enjoyed the return of in person conferences after they all went virtual over covid - yes that saved money/commute etc but networking and catching up in real life is really valuable too
@AprilShowers5602 ай бұрын
Are all those expenses for the conference also a tax deduction? They definitely would be in Australia.

Since you want work life balance in this career you are pursuing, you can check out the work life balance of others ahead of you in this surgical career and take your findings into your decision making. This way you plan for nonsense and are prepared for surprises.
