Let me tell you a story of success. But it came after a heavy defeat. I remember watching it live too, and felt so sorry for them, but they never gave up in that game, they just got out classed all day. I’m talking about the Japanese rugby team of 1995. They suffered a 145-17 defeat to the All Blacks in a Rugby World Cup match. Not some exhibition match. That could’ve been the end of Japanese rugby, but they learned from it and was determined to make Japanese rugby more than just a fill in spot. Well, in 2015, they did the Impossible. The beat the Springboks in a World Cup match ( just a group stage match) and caused not just the biggest upset in Rugby history, but probably of all sport. Right up there at the very least. And then they did pretty well in their own back yard when the World Cup was staged in Japan. They beat Scotland and Ireland in their group games, but came unstuck against the South Africans in the next round. Most of those South African players, was on the pitch that day in 2015 and the Springboks went on to win the World Cup in 2019. Japan wasn’t taken lightly by anyone anymore, and have also become a Tier 1 nation. The point I am trying to make is this… The USA is THE sleeping Giant of World Rugby. The game has exploded in popularity the last 5 years, as a result of the MLR progress and me thinking that a lot of Yanks, are kinda getting bored with NFL, and rugby is the perfect antidote to any with-drawls they may experience. And the game is catching on there. Will it ever over take the NFL as America’s number 1 sport? No. It won’t. But it doesn’t need to. With a population of over 350 million, rugby only needs 10 percent of the nation to take a keen Interest, from grass roots up, and it will have more fans than some Tier 1 nations have people in it. Often combined if you take NZ and Australia and perhaps even the pacific island teams. That’s a perspective not many hold. lol The numbers are insane, and once ESPN or one of the other big TV networks get on board, the game will soar in the USA. And the world is all to familiar with just what kind of athletes you lot breed. It’s scary, but exciting. It’s been a life long dream of mine to see USA Eagles flying high with the big boys, and with the 2031 World Cup coming the US, you can fully expect the rugby landscape to quickly change over there. The MLR, will be THE league all the world’s top players are going to want to go play in. Once TV money starts rolling in, the USA Eagles will be a legit contender to lift the William Webb Ellis Don’t loose heart… back your boys. And keep recruiting new fans to rugby by continuing to spreading the Good Rugby Gospel. Nice reactions man and sorry for the long one. They will get there, believe it.

You guys are getting better, believe it or not. Your Major League Rugby is making inroads and growing every year. This is equal to NZ playing the Americans at Basketball. It would be like 200 to 20.

I don’t fear it.. been welcoming it since I was a little boy.. I’m South African. I want the sleeping Giant to wake up. And by 2031, they won’t just be there to fill the spots.. they’ll go a long way in that tournament. The game will only grow there and get bigger

If America spends HALF their ENERGY they do with NFL on the US Eagles - you guys would produce massive amount of speedsters on a competitive level. Also, in all fairness. This is equivalent to grown adults playing with 5th graders. Unfair warfare.

Dude USA is a lot better now and you have the fastest wing in the entire urc so don't hate your team. Your sevens side is also very good.

There are a couple of words to describe the way the All Blacks play Rugby ?... BEAUTIFUL ... ORGANIZED ... POWERFUL and FAST😊 Brother they have a 77% win rate closest is South Africa with a 61%😊

This is the difference between guys who started playing from the age of 7 vs only playing from college level up. If America wants to compete you have the implement rugby in primary school level already.

Eish 🫣 11 left wing 14 right wing. The 2 wingers playing with scrum caps is to protect their ears from. Cauliflower ears. Those 2 players are Cheslin Kolbe and Kurt-lee Arendse. They swap between left and right wing. To know the difference between the two of them. Kolbe unique in running stepping and a goat. Arendse sorter running strides then Kolbe and upper body also more straight up then Kolbe. Fun fact Kolbe's cousin Wayde van Niekerk Olympic world record holder 400m gold medalist. The nr 4 you keep on referring to Eben Esthabeth lock enforcer and nr 1 lock in the world
