not sure how you can call this "balanced", as a lot of other reviewers has said this is heavily peated. The notes I get here are 70% peat and then 30% combination of the following: very sweet, iodine, salty, savory, cheesy funk. The fruity elements are there but overpowered by the peat unless you really look for it. I thought I enjoyed the peat in the Yoichi, so I tried this, but this is too much for me. The lower abv also didn't help, I thought the Yoichi lacks some punch but this has got to be the most thin scotch I've tasted...

I think this is just a Utah release. As far as Utah it’s just an “ABC” (alcohol beverage control) state, so all purchasing of beverages has to go through the states distribution system.

I can't explain it or put words to it, but it felt strange going into the store to buy this bottle. I go it at a liquor store in or close to downtown Salt Lake City and it felt very strange. The store vibe was a little off. I got the bottle and got out as fast as I could. I am not sure if it was the clientele that was in the store at that particular time or not, but it was just not feeling right. I never felt that way before going into a store.

Great video Peter. thanks - Wanted to ask something about potentially branching out. I have enjoyed your channel for some time now and i really think it has only gotten better with time. I particularly enjoyed watching a very early video about how you sporadically got into whisky. I myself have a modest whisky collection and I'm firmly in the appreciation over getting drunk camp. But i have recently discovered the wonders of good sipping rum. My favourite whisky's are Craigellachie, Glen Garioch, Laphraoig, and Ardbeg.... and i have honestly fallen in love with some rums as sipping spirits akin to the best scotches. I was just wondering if you would ever step into the world of (maybe perceptually) good sipping rum to see what you think. I feel it could make for some good content, and potentially your subscribers could go on a journey with you. I will admit it took a couple of weeks for my palate to accept some of the nuances of rum but there have been some incredible moments since. Hampden 8 year, Veritas (probitas in the US) and Black Tot are only a few i have found some synergy with in terms of scotch, and in the case of the latter two rums... the price to quality ratio is incredible...anyway.... sorry for the wall of text..... just a thought. thanks for the consistently great content. PS. sorry -not a bourbon guy.
