You could use a "water dunk tank" to submerge leaking tires under a few inches of water to track down the exact location of the leak.

Same thing is happening in the auto parts industry, building materials, just about everything. Can't get stuff, or when you do get something its worthless crap. Try getting a new flat tappet cam and lifters for your American V8 engine. You can get them, but likely the lifters are made of Chinesium and will wipe out your new camshaft during the break in. I tried to buy a new electric water heater, nothing fancy, but I wanted to last at least 10 years. Couldn't find any that had more than a 3 star rating, most had more complaints about poor quality and failure within the first year. Don't blame you for retiring.

They stopped putting drain plugs in the sump to drain the oil out. I was given a used Torro SP back in 2017. It blew out the oil sump tray gasket. It lost most of its oil on start up. Luckily, the owner stopped it in time before any internal damage occurred. He gave it to me to experiment with. I removed the sump tray to replace the gasket. While I had the sump tray off, I drilled out the the dummy boss where the drain plug SHOULD HAVE BEEN. I tapped it and made a drain plug for it. It now gets it's oil changed on a regular basis just like any other normal mower engiine.

Had an older dynamark once though it had only a single cylinder and rear discharging deck. For a cheap rider it lasted well enough for 2 or 3 summers to cut an acre and some change sadly it thrown a rod and ended up scrapped as we gotten a bigger tractor at that point a john deer 318. But still I wanted to keep the old rider telling my stepdad I'd try finding another engine for it but nope.

Hey Taryl, watching your old video on rebuilding a Tecumseh. You showed using Plastigage. I have a copy of Tecumseh shop manual which has most specifications, but does not show the preferred or acceptable clearance between Crankshaft and new "standard:" Connecting Rod. My HM80 is on a generator. Due to stuck open governor throttle, when started it ran too fast for a short time before I could shut it down. Had good oil, but the RPM was was more than it could handle. Damaged the Connecting Rod bearing. Have been able to clean up the crankshaft journal and have a new "standard" connecting rod. Using Plastigage, it shows to have 0.005" clearance. Rod/Crank clearance is tough to find. Would be great to learn what acceptable clearance on Crank Rod clearance. If you happen to have that information I would be grateful to find out clearance between Crankshaft and new Connecting Rod recommended and acceptable.

Didn't you notice the lack of compression or resistance when you were pull starting the POS Chinesium engine? Maybe you just thought that was normal but after you put the new piston and rings in the engine you had to notice the harder pulling while trying to start the damn thing??? But thanks for hanging in there on it and getting it done!! I prolly would have pushed it into an old quarry or put an M80 into the spark plug hole and let her go!!!! Really is a POS!!

Toro - No discharge chute on movers, they do not even include a chute in the retail box. You have to contact Toro and request a rear chute, so they can collect your personal information. Toro has also forced electric lawn (battery powered) equipment on retailers (whether they want them or not). I will not be buying any more Toro equipment. In fact, I need a new lawnmower now, I have been looking at several brands but NOT Toro! NOTE to manufacturers - no deck side chute, or powered by an electric battery - I will not be buying it.

Those old ads were just projections of what men dreamt of in their machines and women together. Now with AI the merger of machine and woman is almost a reality. Weird way to think on it but true.

Hey Terrell Texas off I totally agree with you I think you should maybe talk to him and see if you can give him a pretty decent price for a generator because you can probably use the motor for some other tractor it needs a motor but you can't find the motor that and you could maybe modify a engine on some kind of tractor

Intro cracked me up. As a former auto tech this hit a nerve. My shop was in the city and the amount of people that would walk up to my bay asking for air in their tires, check an engine light, change wipers etc probably added up to a whole work week worth of hours over a year. There are always exceptions for actual customers it just blows my mind how people think looking in a manual is a waste of time, but wasting your time is fine.

😊stihl HT 103 has issue of the extend drive tube moving backwards and disengaging from the drive head! The final push spring only contacts and pushes on the extend splined drive tubes end bearing sleeve and does not contact the tube itself, so the tube is free to move backward until it contacts the bearinged plastic centering divider between number 3 and 4th spring. The parts break down shows the assembly order and that is how this is put together. Any ideas? I removed the final fourth spring and the 3rd spring was able to push the bearinged plastic forward and maintain contact with the extend drive tube and it operates without any disengagement. How did it work when it was new and not have disengagement issues?
