The Tories are now Labour lite. Time to elect politicians who care. Reform UK. I hope the Tories never gain power again. They have destroyed the country I love more effectively than Labour ever could.
@pmartin26738 минут бұрын
Indeed the Tories have been unbelievably incompetent but it's not just the Tories at fault, it's every elected party for the last 30 odd years and a steady decline culminating to where we are today. Everybody needs to get on board and behind Reform UK to give our elected powers a kick up the backside. We need a shake up and I'm afraid Conservative or Labour are two of the same and nothing will change.

"Consequential"? A change from a corrupt far right party to a "sensible" tory lite, pro Israel, pro business party. Thats the "consequential" choice ... Unsurprisingly, the conservative London elite is happy.

@AlanWarrenBelfastArchitect5 сағат бұрын
Currently, the left in this election is not represented by Labour, but by a diverse scattering of independents and the Greens. They all receive little coverage, so post this election the 'left' will be underrepresented. . Labour by moving to the right to attract moderate Conservatives has alienated a significant portion of its base, (The treatment of Abbott and others has also alienated many.) When Labour win the election, they will find that votes borrowed are less dependable than the core support that they have alienated. The honeymoon period may be very short given the mess they are inheriting. Next May, they may be the Party losing hundreds of Council seats.

The Left? What is the left now? The Labour leadership are viewed as red conservatives by many labour moderates. I'd say they are more like the Lib dems in attitude. What i find strange is that as the labour leadership lean to the right the nation, as a whole ,is leaning more to the left especially concerning nationalising utilities and railways. Even conservative voters think the public sector is underfunded. Most people would back higher taxation of the rich yet Labour shy's away from declaring it will.

Angela Rayner is the only person you mentioned (in Labour) that I would say was on the left. Starmer got the leadership under false pretences and has lied about everything ever since. I can't stand him. And now he's saying he's going to stop the boats! Whey does he have to come out with all this tory bs when he's going to win a landslide? We need PR now. The only hope is that once he gets in he might do a bit more than he's saying. I'm just so effing depressed

The Conservatives are dying because of there Brexit, they own it. The majority have rejected it thats why Labour will win. The idea Farage is some kind if saviour is hysterical, he is more of the problem people are going to the polls to reject.

For those of us with families working for the NHS or with a total commitment to healthcare free at the point of access, it is entirely legitimate to say we will never access private healthcare. I do not think this was a missstep by Starmer. I respect him for this

Really want to listen to your podcasts as there is a lot of interesting information but do you realize how you come across? Self-satisfied and morally entitled - because you are on the left, like the Guardian on steroids. Please - less of the Oxbridge and more straightforward discussion. I couldn’t finish listening to this even though I wanted to!

That it is seen as a given that a modern, prosperous, industrious first world country must rely on mass immigration to prop up its economy ought to be the most damning indictment of the liberal establishment of the last 50 years.
@graemecreegan67498 сағат бұрын
That Andrew believes people are putting immigration so high on their list of priorities due to the optics of emotive images from channel crossers, shows how utterly out of touch he is. Clearly his community has not changed much in the last decade or so, but other people’s have and they have not changed for the better.
@graemecreegan67498 сағат бұрын
Yes, Andrew the EU was always seen as a bastion liberalism, globalism and egalitarianism and that is why the majority of British people rejected it at the first opportunity afforded them. The Tories took that message and went more liberal, globalist and more egalitarian. That is why they are headed for the dustbin of history. The same is happening with Labour who do not represent their constituency either and will be outflanked to their left by the likes of George Galloway and the ever burgeoning ranks of disgruntled ex Labour politicians knifed by Starmer. Your view that people who voted Brexit only want to see an end to black and brown people arriving in Britain merely exposes your own bigotry and ignorance. Most Brexit voter only wish to have the opportunity to live, work and socialise in a society which is as diverse as the one that you and your ilk do, i.e. like Britain circa 1996. 90 odd percent British, 99.9% English speaking.

Despite trying very hard, the UK hasn't been able to build enough new homes to keep up with the huge numbers immigrants entering, THUS rent and house prices have only gone up inline with increased demand from overpopulation The NHS is also collapsing because the infrastructure cannot cope with 66m people. It's all down to immigration. Quantifiable FACT.
