Hi is there an adhesive I can use under for concrete and use same for tiling over it ?
@TheBeardedTilerАй бұрын
Yes still use prime 3/1 mix. but then u could use a standard flex /slow or fast set of your preference adhesive..
@bsfbestshortfilmsonyoutubeАй бұрын
@@TheBeardedTiler ok I have already a concrete floor. I was hoping to find just one adhesive which I don't need to prime. It's a place I am renting so I wanna do it cheap as possible. but it also works.
@TheBeardedTilerАй бұрын
@bsfbestshortfilmsonyoutube how longs the concrete floor been down ?
@TheBeardedTilerАй бұрын
If it’s an old solid concrete floor and they aren’t massive tiles and no underfloor heating don’t worry about the matting …not worth it ..
@TheBeardedTilerАй бұрын
Primer is cheap and it’s only to get a better bond in case it’s dusty and to stop suction so it does t dry out to quick.
@bf57332 ай бұрын
Really helpful, how long do you wait to lay tiles on the durabase? Thanks a lot
@TheBeardedTilerАй бұрын
I leave it til next day !! Just so it gives a chance to set otherwise you might disturb matting.

I bet you never ‘back buttered’ a tile until you started watching american ‘tile’ videos!

What are you filling the joints with and would you tank the space prior to tiling?
@TheBeardedTiler3 ай бұрын
Filling the joint with a flex tile adhesive as with what you would like tiles. As for waterproofing if it’s a wet room area maybe. I usually tape internal corners as that’s the most prone to leak. Sometimes tanking I find is overkill and an added expense. Hope this helps

Wooden texture tiles are shit. Trust me, the grout is too wide making it unrealistic, and then all look like shit once those grout gets blacked. Shit and gunk get stuck in the between tiles rough texture . You want a good tiles that last and also look good long run, then bother choosing wooden textured tiles.

Great video.Does this method work on natural stone tiles too? Does the grout wash out of all the indentations in the tile? Also, I'm using Porcelanosa Natural stone tiles in the bathroom. Do I need to treat them before and after with anything before grouting.Thanks in advance?
@TheBeardedTiler8 ай бұрын
Hi Chris ..thanks for the comment. What kind of stone ?? Yes you definitely need to seal them. I’d recommend fila products they are easy to use and work really well. Make sure you do a test as some darker colours will stain the stone !!! So be aware!! Best to do a extra layer of sealer just incase. Any problems or issues just leave a message.
