Great video. Over the years I've found plenty of mods that were a waste for me. My build has changed a lot over the years.

So true. It’s hard sometimes to know what you do and don’t need. Everyone uses their vehicles different. I’ve been impressed with how capable a sport Jeep is from the factory. The way everyone talks you’d think this thing would break just going over a curb. In reality I haven’t needed a lot of the Mods I originally planned on doing. And it’s really handled itself well

@1870offroad10 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. My Jeep is the only Jeep I’ve ever driven. So I don’t have another reference point. It really helps hearing how others jeeps drive too. (That’s partly why I’m doing these, I learn a lot from the feedback) When I first bought this Jeep there weren’t a lot of JLs riding around down here. There wasn’t even another one to test drive. My grandfather had a few CJs growing up but they were long gone by the time I was old enough to drive them. I’m not quite sure what I’m feeling in the Jeep. The steering was definitely worn out when I replaced it and that tightened everything back up but there’s something that feels off. It may be that steering box or just that I don’t drive it daily. When I took it back to the dealership they said there’s nothing wrong with it, they suggested it may be because I don’t drive it everyday and it takes a minute to get acclimated. Which may be true because after driving it for several days I don’t notice it anymore

The filming location is Jonesboro Georgia. The entire movie is filmed in Georgia, most of the 1st half is around Jonesboro (McDonough, riverdale etc). The mountains and rivers from the later half are mostly in North Georgia (Helen, Buford, cumming, etc) The Racetrack and State Fair is the Lakewood speedway and Lakewood fairgrounds. Both are long gone but the Lakewood amphitheater is still there, and the Lakewood movie studios are still there

That was not Tara Field. It was South Expressway airport. Now its where the corrupt Clayton County Superior court resides ad runs its racketeering operation. Tara Field was formally Bear Creek Airport and is now the Henry County airport by the Speedway in Hampton.
@1870offroadАй бұрын
Cool to know, I was young when the airport moved or merged in with Bear creek. I didn’t know it wasn’t called Tara field anymore. I can remember driving down towards Atlanta motor speedway and airplanes coming over you when you topped the hill. That should’ve been a sign to the residents of the area. Your government does you a favor and gets rid of the airport. Only to replace it with a prison. I’m sure the locals are happy now 😂. I went to A&P school in the old hanger that’s still on that property next to the courthouse

@hueyman624Ай бұрын
The house across from Snowmans house in the movie was owned by TT Ford, He and Mrs Ford were the people on the porch. They went to our church. Jonesboro Presbyterian. The "beer warehouse" was Mr Fords garage. Clayton County was a dry county and did not allow any beer or wine sales until well into the 80s. I remember working with the Chamber of commerce to get it allowed. Waynes was a 5 & Dime not a grocery store. I knew him too. Same street used in Movin on too (TV Show). Today Clayton County is a 3rd world country with a corrupt superior court that is involved in organized crime and racketeering. I am a victim. Laws ignored to steal a $630,000 property from my Dad's estate. It has financially destroyed my life and credit. Nobody cares
@1870offroadАй бұрын
Sorry to hear that. My family was from around there but most of them moved away decades ago. It’s went down hill even in the 90s, it seems to have gotten worse since My dad grew up off of Valley hill rd. They had B&B sanitation and B&B campers around the time of the movie was filmed. My mom was off of turner rd. I wasn’t around yet when the movie was made. I remember watching as a little kid and everything mostly looked like it didn’t in the movie

I mean let's be honest... Most of the original jeeps with the half doors and later vinyl doors used as beach cruisers and that primarily why they took the doors off... Nothing new. Other vehicles like Power wagons, k5s, broncos, s10s land Rovers, original land cruisers, GM C/K series trucks, Ford F series, and dodge d series trucks were the prime off roaders... I mean there a few of the Willie's army jeeps that got used for off roading but the majority of them were used as farm vehicles and tractors.. The original jeeps were terrible offroaders and flipped all the time! It was only in about the 90s that jeeps started to become capable off roaders... Hell VW bugs with some light modifications used to out perform them...
