Hey Raam. Wow we have very similar taste in cameras. I remember being mesmerised by Craig mods article on the gf1, and when we caught up you had the gx1 which I ended up getting a few years later. I also went Fuji a few years after you then! The iPhone is great of course, it has so much going for It especially in travel. I do like my cameras though. Nice to hear from you here!

@@ytfeelslikenorthkorea I cannot comment on the difference in color science between the X-Pro2 and X-Pro3. However, I know of others who prefer the color science of the X-Pro1 over the X-Pro3.

Hi. I would believe it, although I haven't used it. I was looking at some old 3mp digicam (Pentax optic) shots from my parents last night, and the larger noise from the smaller sensor gave it an in-built grain look, if it wasn't too high ISO. As long as the noise is "nice," the lower MP count should mean it is larger and hence more film like. I'd like to try one some day.

I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with with xpro2. And yes a well treated Fuji is begginning to seem like an investment

That sounds like a lot to me. I got mine in 2017 and paid 250 au (150us?), but it was beat up, and it may be more in demand now. I wouldn't expect to pay more than 300, but I haven't checked. It's interesting how older cameras are booming.

Ah yeah, autofocus was THE reason I was unhappy with my x100s. It failed me big time at my dad's wedding. the x100v on the other hand has GREATE face detection. I had the x100v and and xPro3 and while the xPro3 is cute as hell, it's not a camera that's easy to take around. I hope you keep your x100v for a long time and disregard the new shiny things that will come along. Jealous of your xPro2! Cameras are cool.

@@shockandrockets Heh, I have since sold my X100V to and bought a X-Pro3 for various reasons. But you‘re absolutely right, the X100V was much easier to get many places!

@@torb-no I'm using the wrong account just realized. Anyway though, what drew you to the xpro3? For me I went xpro3 to the x100v for the portability. I liked the experience of the xpro3 though. Even though I suspect viewfinders are making my blind

@@shockandrockets I was already bouncing between X100V and X-Pro2… and so… I liked the bigger OVF of the X100V compared to X-Pro2 (X-Pro3 one is bigger than both). I liked using my XF35mm f2 on my X-Pro2. It‘s my favorite lens and focal length. I like the overall handling of the X-Pro2 more than the X100V, except maybe that I liked being able to flip down the screen on the V. The X-Pro3 does that flip down even faster and easier. On both my X100V and X-Pro2 I hated that the LCD is shining brightly into my face (I only use the LCD for down low shots). Turning it off and on by cycling view modes is slow and clunky. The X-Pro3 does *exactly* what I want by default LCD for when I have low shots, but hidden otherwise. I liked how my X100V was shiny (silver in that case). The X-Pro3 had an option for an X-Pro style body that‘s also shiny. While I *love* that the X100V viewfinder is silent (and the flash sync speed is cool I guess), I ultimately hate that it‘s weird interaction with the aperture. Like how when you‘re at f2 you can't even use the full mechanical shutter speed of 1/4000th. With the X-Pro series I can *always* use the full shutter speed (and it goes to 1/8000th!). Just generally speaking the handling of X-Pro series, and espescially X-Pro3 series is just so lovely. The way I can easily rock the exposure compensation dial, how I have a big aperture ring grip compared to the dinky X100V. Very friendly to wearing heavy duty gloves! I also liked the dual card slot of the X-Pro2 and wanted that again. Nice peace of mind for important things, like shooting weddings. As for X-Pro2 only having a single magnification OVF… I think it‘s worth it for the *significantly* improved OVF of the X-Pro3. Also, I rarely shoot wider than 23mm and in those cases I think the OVF introduced too much parallax anyway. And for 50mm I think the X-Pro3 still works well enough for me at least. They‘re all great cameras though. If I had unlimited money I might want to have X100V, X-Pro2 *and* X-Pro3. As it stands I'll probably sell my X-Pro2 as well, and get another X-Pro3 so I have a pair of reliable cameras that I know well how to operate.

One more thing: while I prefer the X-Pro3 now. I honestly think X-Pro2 has as slight edge in image quality. That sensor is *magic*.

Yeah the x pro 1 focus peeking is very hard to use. Congrats on the x pro 2! Do you find it too mug though? I moved down from xpro back to x100 because I wasn’t taking it everywhere.

Congrats, it’s going to be a great journey. iPhones are great cameras for what they are and the x-pro3 will compliment them nicely when you want to slow right down.

Yes! The x-pro2 is essentially the same as x-pro3 for basic photographic purposes, as far as I can tell. Same solid in hand feel

@@shockandrockets You are rights. The minor improvements between the Pro2 and Pro3 did not warrant me spending extra cash the the "latest and greatest".

I miss it too. What method did you use for focussing? I missed so many people shots with it. Perhaps I wasn't using the right technique, or wasn't ninja enough.

@@alidark3000 you know it was a long time ago so I can’t remember if I deleted lots of missed shots. But I don’t remember being frustrated. Having said that my expectation is never to get 100% of shots nailed (the ignorance is bliss of never owning a camera that could do that, I guess). I’m pretty certain I just used single shot mode and half pressed the shutter and then composed, probably in auto or aperture priority - fairly standard! Probably used the LCD more than either viewfinder.

Hi Nishkut. This is a good beginners photography camera,, because you have tactile control over the exposure triangle (shutter seed, aperture, ISO). Go for it! But as said, you will need to take your time with focus in close situations. That's good for learning some basic focussing techniques though.

It’s really good for photography, videography I would suggest go with a6000 or higher models of sony

Hi Fernando. What kind of photos do you take? For example, family, landscape, street, urban stills?

Also what focal length of you like. Wide, like 28mm or narrow like 30mm (x100 series is 35mm equivalent).

I usually take landscape and sometimes street, I was thinking get the 27mm is a little lens, it's almost the same price

@@fernandomartinezperalta8327 ok cool. Well I’m not a landscape photographer but I’ve done some street. Focussing is a biggish issue there, if you’re happy to pre refocus using back button (or single point then recompose), the x100s could work well. Cropped 27mm is a little tight for street (for me) unless you’re really focussing on the people as opposed to environments. The 23mm is a bit wider. You could also look at the Fuji x70 (even wider) for a real compact street camera, and if you want to stick to Fuji.

Thanks for sharing. Whenever I upgrade something when I didn’t really need to I feel bad. I loved that thing then I traded it for new hotness. I’m glad you won’t have this feeling.
