In my opinion, compared to Crossway’s trutone version, the paper in the Truth For Life version is better and the print quality is more consistent. I plan on having this same Bible rebound so it will last longer.

I got saved in 1976 and purchased the very same Holy Name Bible. I have used it for years. I adore the Holy Names Yahweh and Yashua. This Bible is a true blessing to me. It’s a bit worn but I still love to look at it from time to time. It’s so special to me. Thank you for featuring it here. Last night my recently born again son looked at my Bible and asked where he could find one. Bless you.

I think this is a fantastic looking Bible. It is on my short list of things to get in the future. I would go for the amethyst cover but so many look great.

I have a Collins long primer printed in Great Britain circa 1967. It’s in genuine leather and thumb indexed. I also have a World Bible in genuine leather, double column in classic print, red letter, circa 1982. I like the block construction and general feel of the World Bible. However, the Collins long primer text is easier on my eyes and I tend to reach for it. I’m considering rebinding/recovering the Collins.

Modern preverisons removed verses such as 1 John 5:7, Acts 8:37, and many more.

Hebrew Scholar Jew Nehemiah Gordon is very clear and vocal that the correct pronunciation of God's name is Yahovah, very similar to Jehovah in the ASV1901. Jesus's name would be similar to Yeshua in Hebrew.

great video. I would avoid Crayola. As much as i like even their crayons - they have gone crazy woke. For a kids company to push hard on PRIDE, trans-ing children and CRT is just too much. Look into other similar brands, as hard as it is to find. There are alternatives

Thanks for this video! Im looking for a new bible, as well as a different translation to read. Raised on the kjv. Debating on getting a cambridge clarion, but not sure yet. The single column is something im not sure about. Cambridge has a few other nice looking nasb bibles. This schuyler here looks AMAZING as well. Although im still not sure 😂. Im also thinking, the 1995 version seems to be the "best." Anyway, thanks for this video!!

I recently picked up a kjv pocket addition. AWESOME little bible. I am looking for another version to read now. Debating on the nasb. Tempted to get the clarion, but im not sure how the single column will affect reading. Anyone able to chime in and help me make a decision? 😂 Thanks for the video!

Riverside Book & Bible House bought World (bible division) from Collins in 1980. They didn't make a habit of stamping "Riverside" into their bibles thankfully. I think it was only their first NASB run. They most did KJV, though I do have a rare NKJV. Their bibles in the 80's though would say Iowa or Iowa Falls on the first page which was an indication of the era (80s) and current owner (Riverside) since they never printed dates on their bibles (even back in the 30s through 70s).

The gilt looks like HOT out of the FIRE edit: burning coal... I would have suggested a bit more black (coal) nuance and fiery red on the covers as well... That would KICK ROCK!!! Nice 👍 done !

I have a similar bible, picked up at a garage sale. Publisher is "Westminster Book Store" in Philadelphia, printing license is to Collins, dated 1949. The major difference from the Collins bibles you review is, no gilt edge, just red. Illustrations are the same -- B&W or colorized photographs of contemporary (early 20th cent) Palestine scenes. I do note that this puts them in line with a classic Presbyterian scruple against images of Jesus. Most interesting to me is the final map, "Modern Palestine". Many Arabic names, and political divisions don't match anything modern.

This bible is a good study aid for the library along with a bible dictionary. It has interesting maps, and the color of the pages are easy on the eyes. I wouldn't read it for doctrine, but I always keep it within reach for research.

As of right now I am three and a half books away from finishing handwriting the entire Bible. I have used a ton of different journals and notebooks to write in, and my least favorite of all were the “Journible” journals. The space provided for each verse was either too small or too much, and the space for each line was too small. I have used journals that were super thick and journals that were thin, I even used composition books. If I were to do this all over again I would use the A4 thin notebooks exclusively, and in particular the grid paper notebooks. Trust me, using a huge tome like the one featured here in this video is the most uncomfortable kind of journal you could ever use. When I write I write for hours at a time, and when I was using my thick books my arm hurt for days. You have to have supports for your arm in order to be able to write comfortably, and supports for the left side of the journal when you first start out and then once you get past the middle of the journal. There is a whole lot I can share about my Bible writing experience, but if there is one thing I can recommend above all is for you to pick the most comfortable journal you can write in that will accommodate your handwriting and allow you to carry it with you without having to hire a sherpa to carry it for you.

I loved Ruckman. I did. But i woke up. At best he was a dedicated man… at worst he assumed waaaayyy too much. I recently put my RR back in its box. We all know what his private life was like. We all know he was just a man. And i admit it was these facts that had me in belief of his commentary. Then there was a particular sermon i heard. In it he told the story of a question that was asked him. If he were a member of a congregation and he discovered that its pastor was molesting a juvenile would he report the pastor? When he answered “No.” it broke my heart. He went on to claim he wouldn’t turn the pastor in in order to protect the child… which is BS. What if there were other children being molested? This answer broke me. How could he knowingly allow a sexual predator to remain in a position of power and claim it was to protect the victim?!?! Second, he claimed we’re all in an animal state when within the womb and we don’t receive a spirit until our first breath… so our LORD Jesus Christ was an animal?! Third, almost every two pages of the reference he suggests a book he wrote in the notes that can be bought at BBP. So its a reference book that refers you to other books for sale at his ministry. I can literally go on about his faults for an amazing amount of time but i don’t need to. Read him yourself and you decide. Just because someone has the ability to speak bluntly doesn’t mean they speak truth. In a twist, I thank Dr. Ruckman from the depths of my soul. He lead me to the KJV. And though I can no longer ignorantly nod my head and approve of him, I appreciate his fight. Perhaps he was righteous. Perhaps he was a beast of iniquity. Whatever he was, for many of us, he brought us to the door. And for that I’m eternally grateful.

PS--I've had Christians criticize me in the past for buying these very expensive Schuyler Bibles (I own several translations). My response? When David and Solomon were designing and building the Lord's temple they didn't go to Wal-Mart for materials; no, they brought in the best from their known world. I have felt the same about the word of God for a half century; His word deserves the best I can afford. Best wishes from the Houston area!

I have the black pearl calfskin and love it in full yapp. I'm basically an RSV/ESV guy and have those in Schuyler so the construction and 'feel' is as expected--superb. Being new to the NLT I'm reading it cover to cover (I'm in second Chronicles now) for fun and am enjoying it immensely! It's the same old beloved stories, just told by a new narrator. And it's just so great to find a Bible maker who hasn't cheapened out and sent their printing to Red China.

Dispensationalism is no doubt one of the most wicked and heretical systems to ever injected the church. I call it the aids in theology. Launched in the 1820s as the counter reformation by John Nelson Darby which he got from the Roman Catholic Jesuits passed on to c.i. Scofield and is still being taught in the churches as if it is the final word and some exalts c.i. Scofield's notes on the level as the inspired word of God. I came out of the liberal southern Baptist convention Church to independent Baptist churches until I just could not stand the errors being taught from the pulpits as if the gospel truth. I was also deceived by les feldicks awful two gospel heresies. Finally I came across David bercott of scroll publishing on what the early Christians believed in certain topics. Today what the church feels is heresy is actually what the early Christians believed and taught. One is that salvation is offered nowhere apart from what Jesus commanded he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved as Acts 4:12 and Romans 6:3 etc. dispensationalist are mutilators of the word of God ( AW Pink and Philip Mauro ) Albertus Pieters in the early days of the scofield bible said it was the most dangerous book on planet earth. The Jesuits are alive and well and are still deceiving billions. The mystery of iniquity. God bless everyone brethren +

This Dr. Gene Kim is just is one KJV fanatics pastor who have a wrong interpretation of 2 Timothy 3:16 in order to defend the KJV bible. How come the KJV bible became inspired where in fact it was just one of the english translation in 1611that is why there were so many mistranslated words and verses if you truly examined it and compared to the original hebrew and greek words in the bible 😊
