Start with the book, Dude. "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain"

Hey! Appreciate the video. One interesting thought has come to me while watching. Is it actually healthy to force yourself to love something? Say if it's unnatural for a person to love the process of drawing, but he still likes the result, should he actually pursue it instead of doing something that feels more natural and easy-going? All that brainwashing yourself sounds almost cruel to ourselves? I mean maybe you're just meant (or "wired") for smth else, but instead u might break your psyche pushing yourself like this...

Damn nice man. Love to see a genuine video. I think you made fantastic progress. How many hours did you average a week or per day?

How do u spend three weeks just drawing torsos istg I could never haha, what I could imagine tho if I made it like a 3 day period, 7 parts: head, arms, torso, legs, clothes, poses and perspective. For me it would definitely make it more realistic and doable, great vid tho!

Entirely agree with him. This doesn't work for my ADHD ahh tho lol. And with anyone with ADHD here's a tip. Have as many art related tasks running in the background around you as possible so you have less tasks that can distract you from drawing by sheer number.

Dear God...where did you find that female yackin' at around 3:15...with a voice like that she could get a job cutting down trees! Please delete it. This whole thing should have started at 10:44 - Actionable steps! Picasso said, "By the time I was 13, I could draw like an angel. But it took the rest of my life to learn how to draw like a child". Whoa.... And a child drawing is always balanced. You don't see that in adults work!

I've heard it suggested many times before, so I'm not sure why it was this exact video which finally convinced me: I'll delete social media apps from my phone and remove the bookmarks from my PC browser right now. I want to improve as an artist, and I've been making very slow progress, but I'm sick of being unable to motivate myself to practice more.

Thank you so much, it makes so much sense and even though I'm out of context here: this also helps me by providing another reason to stay sober and don't do drugs anymore.

i think a lot of people want to draw better but sometimes something is holding you back, almost like your scared to just give it a try. the only way to improve is to give it a go yourself

So, please where is that "Literally Anything" what did you actually draw here. No seriously, what are you trying to teach here. No disrespect but things you are kind of trying to talk about, are basics in Academic tradition, but it isnt done like this, not even remotely. In my opignion you lack drawing experience especially drawing whitout refference photo, using refference photo is totally misleading. Take pen and paper and draw what you see around you and use the same idea of observing the object all the time you draw. See you in a 6 months.

I feel you man, I just started drawing a month ago and this helps a lot. I'm a designer, I have good advanced concepts, but drawing? It's being quite challenging, but that's how it is, you spend some time drawing monstrosities and then you start to improve, keep trying, when you want to stop the most is when it's the worst time.

I’m not being mean or rude but there are a ton of artists better than this guy and even though they are better their videos on art and how to actually practice or approach it are nowhere near this guys explanations it just makes so much sense and he actually describes things like these instead of saying oh just be more disciplined gain more motivation just focus more push on he gives us this video which actually is really helpful (really just need to fix my sleep schedule )

I actually read this book in the early 80s. I tried the technique out at the time using a photograph of my sister and created what was actually a really good portrait. I was amazed at the difference between the upside down technique and drawing things normally. Thank you for reminding me about it.
@definitelyrealfortnite7 күн бұрын
This seriously is not helpful to me at all. Turning things upside down, or drawing without looking has not improved my skills whatsoever.
@definitelyrealfortnite7 күн бұрын
Possibly the least helpful video ive seen so far. Its obvious that you should try to draw things as you see them. The problem is that i cant.

BE PRODUCTIVE!!! The ChecklistL . 1 more video - put it down after one more. . 10 - 20 star jumps/activity - Getting active releases dopamine faster and gets you more motivated. . Do one small task - Take a plate out of your room, anything tiny will give you more dopamine and want you to do more. . Create something fun and amazing that you enjoy. - It's less soul sucking and more fun, don't pressure yourself. . Ask somebody in your family if what you have created is good, or what they have to say about it. - I always get compliments from my mum when I do my art, and this makes me more inclined to do it again.
