I just rebuilt a 13hp in a Cox that was much the same, put new rings in, the crank, con rod, cam and everything looked good. Stopped all the smoke but still has that horrid Briggs and Stratton knock at low RPM. I can only put it down to the counter balance weight making the knocking noise as everything else was perfect. Runs and cuts great just hat frustrating knock in the engine.

I had a mid 90s 13/32 I think, had it about four years before moving to Australia ironically. I never needed to top up oil and it smoked under heavy load mowing brush and very thick grass (we have that in NZ). Finally got rust holes in the deck and gave it away as we were renting our lifestyle block out. Now back after nearly four years and definitely will get another one!

Good one Steve! you're gonna enjoy that rig. I like that you got the one with all the bits I wish I had on mine. Especially that side mounted fwd / reverse lever - with that low seating position I personally feel it a little difficult to move my leg back to grab reverse so I do most of the cutting fwd. Also mine seems to go slower in reverse than in fwd so I'm keen to find out if yours is slower in rev than fwd. I know my pump is capable of the same speed fwd / rev when it was out on the bench but maybe there are some features built into the linkages to slow down reverse?? Have fun
@bigbird130
@bigbird130 Жыл бұрын
I find the reverse peddle a little awkward. I'm thinking of adjusting the peddle to see if that makes a difference. If I do I'll make a video. I think they are designed to go slower in reverse my Husqvarna was the same, the hydro could handle the same speed the the travel of the peddle was restricted. I watched your videos working on the transmission on the bench nice work.

Hi Steve, I was waiting for this. This machine would save the 3 days of brush cutting i usually have to do, and on some other videos they show them going up and down steep terrain like i have. I might have to rent one and give it a try. Glad you shared that video - thanks

Funny you should mention hiring one. I have in the passed hired an AS Shurpa similar to the Razorback and did just that cut down 3 days of brushcutting to about 4 hrs. The problem is they (by which I mean Kennards Hire) don't hire them out any more. My next video of it will show it on steep terrain.

In my case my saws are Stihl all my Stihl batteries I got themes from a Stihl dealer here in Portugal and otheres just across the border on a Stihl dealer in Spain. Here also kind esear to buy themes online on a Stihl web page. PS. To a new buyer I surely not recommend buy the cheap Stihl AP battery charger, I pay for mine 50 Euros but is not worth, takes almost 4 hours to charge one AP500S battery, then I end up pay 160 Euros for the charger 500 but it charge same battery in 35 minutes.

I have the Stihl not Huskvarna but with be the same, batteries and charger are sold separately. In my case if I am go cutting continuous very much non stop from a pile of logs and I use the Stihl MSA300 I need 4 AP 500S batteries and the charger 500 plugged to a power outlet for continuos charging wille I am cutting. I find this saws very confortable and practical to use the downside in my view is the battery technology fails short for this nice simple to use machines.

@@bigbird130 I have the Stihl, about 2 years ago I was go buy the Huskvarna but here in Portugal at that time the Huskvarna was about 200 Eur. more expensive over the Stihl MSA 220 so I buy the Stihl, for what I see in your video yours is faster. Now 2 months ago I buy the new Stihl the MSA 300 I believe this one is faster that yours, but is no way my top battery the AP500c with last has long has yours. Hello. I have the Stihl MSA 300 for what I can see on your video seems like the MSA 300 with be fast, but I believe even with best battery witch I have, it with never last as long. Mine have 3 power settings using the battery AP500 however with a 16" blade cutting logs that is used about 80% of the blade I just got about 15 minutes cutting time, very short time. Yours seems slower but maybe is better. I hope Stihl comes with a better battery, because the machine itself the MSA300 is a joy and powerful machine.
