Grainger has discontinued this spring. I will be near one later today, hope to maybe get something close. Any ideas on an alternate source?

K, stopped in at Grainger today, The springs are either discontinued or you have to buy 3 packs of 10, raising the rice d admission to over $150. So, I am on hold. The U-bolts were available, the steel is easy as are the locking nuts. Any ideas on an alternate source for the springs? I was considering a DIY of the HappiJac style, Eye bolt thru a cap, spring essentially preset. Screw on or press fit then weld the cap to the tubing, welded nut at other end. Ever consider one that way? The spring would need t be about double the in/lbs you used. And you would need to be real confident on your welds.

@@BillWhetstone I'm actually working on a video now (don't hold your breath as to when it will be out). Those tiedowns that I made have a lot of advantages but the big disadvantage is how difficult they are to install. I have not used them since I built my couch on the passenger side of the camper. To difficult to reach that area. I am now using ratchet straps and bolting the camper down in the back. Everything will be explained in the video.

@@NorthernExplorerOverland Interesting. I am currently using the Brophy wie doowns, just reinstalled them today. The guy I bought the camper and tie downs from had them installed wrong, and I didn't know any better. I had them all backwards. Put them in right. Used Nutserts instead of trying a nut from bottom because the bottom of the rail is essentially closed up. I still have regular turnbuckles, and I have a HappiJac system on my Amazon shopping cart., if I am still dissatisfied with the Brophys.

This cable goes direct on transmission, the piece on left side make the shifter positions. I hope it help someone! 🙏🙏🙏🙏 God bless

If you want quiet, I think it has more to do with the time of the year that you go than anything else. After Labor day there are a lot less tourists. July and August you can expect to see some crowds.

17.5 on superduty is good. My 3.5 ecoboost 3.55 gears was getting 22 mpg when I purchased it. That’s with stock tires and stock suspension. I put a leveling kit on it and a bed rack tent. It went down to 18.5 mpg. I then put duratrek mt tires 32”(taller tires and 8 ply) and it dropped to 16.5. So if your truck is stock it’s doing better than the ecoboost with slightly smaller tires on the ecoboost.

The truck had approximately 3,000 miles at the beginning of the trip.

@@sethro2049 actually the 11th Hour I was looking at a local reputable tire dealer auto repair garage website and they had Yokohama geolanders at XD's at about $80 a tire cheaper and I started researching them I decide to go with them and I really love them they're more aggressive super sticky I love the look of them as well, obviously I have to give them more time to see how they do in the snow but so far in the heavy rain soaked roads absolutely no problems, I live East Central Wisconsin I haven't got them into mud yet But I feel confident they will be good ,I'm not a big mud off-road guy anyhow but occasionally I will I'll get on dirt/ grassy roads and unplowed in the winter to give them a good test, I will post a video then of these tires because there's not many uploads of them since it's a fairly new Tire

Great video...thank you! I was wondering with this fridge does it seem like there is an option to add another shelf on the door? Thank you!

You can buy a small shelf for the top of the door that might hold some butter or something. It doesn't look like the freezer door will separate from the shelf. www.caravansplus.com.au/upper-door-shelf-suit-dometic-waeco-cr65-crx65-coolmatic-fridges-p-14495.html

F350 same engine . With no lumber racks and shell , tailgate down . Best I’ve done is 14.3 . I’m a retiring carpenter and am thinking of downsizing just because of this issue. . Just don’t see how lol electric bikes , dive gear and kayaks and all the other gear for a long outback stay means I need the hauling capacity. . It’s conundrum! At least gas is cheap in Mexico .
