Sometimes I wounder how I got this far in life with my brains scrambled the way they are. Took half the video and rereading the title to figure out I wasn't going to see a fallen moose jammed under a tree... Thought I was about to see a swift water moose rescue.

Hi Alex! Really like your reviews, great job! I would have one question: Dagger Code vs Zet Cross? I see you have quite good impression about both, price tag seems to be quite close…as beginner/intermediate paddler I would like to learn and improve confidence, but comfort is also top prio on my list (so out fitting is also super important if I am sitting in for 5-6hours). I would not paddle big volume waters, just what we have in Europe in Alps and so. Thanks for recommendation! Cheers from Hungary! P.s. Demo them is kinda impossible here around.

ive always wondered why they dont make paddles that spring load flat at the ends so you can push a button when you want to upright and your paddle end is no longer sharp to cut water but actually several inches in width. This would make it so if you pushed down on your paddle it would actually have resistance and help you upright.

Just came back to this one out of curiosity, and since demoing a Ninja 2 over the past two weeks I have a much better appreciation for your comments regarding the hip steering vs the knee focused steering. As it turns out, that suits my paddling style and stature better.

@AlexBarham Have the ability to grab one of these (75gal) locally for right under $400 while I'm id say between begginer and intermediate level of skill I do prefer boats that give more primary stability and weight in the back of the hips, while expecting feedback, compared to I guess "more friendly" full displacement, i.e. hated the nomad I started in. I like boats that can handle rock features and surf well and help me progress as well which kind of canceled out very hard railed boats for me (the most aggressive id go is an antix for reference). For someone who doesn't mind a learning curve and is based in the Southeast is this something you'd recommend? Apologies for the mouthful...

Only 'negative' was not saying "practice, practice, practice", especially for those who aren't needing it regularly yet. +1 for saying "go get training"! Annoying that the 'other bag' you'd borrowed was looped, implying it's always worth cross-testing safety gear, just as you'd check each others PFD fitting. Some real important points in there!

Picked a titan dragon for a fraction of the cost new, it came with 0 outfitting kits or tools. When I sit in it my left tigh is squished under the tigh brace and the right one is super hard to fit under the brace at all. My feets and legs are 100% flat with shoes and I wonder if I am too big for the boat. I am 5"10 210 pounds so I don't think I am really. Do you think I will need to trim the plastic braces or is this normal? I am a noob yes.

Would you have any thoughts on this versus a Supernova? Neither are available for demo where I am in New Zealand, but I did try a medium Ozone--I loved it but it kicked my butt enough due to my weight (about 195) that I did not think it viable to own. I was worried there would be too much volume in the large. The other option is a Supernova, but I would also like something I can safety boat in. The lack of grab loops is a big disincentive, though it looks a blast to paddle. I'd be keen to hear your thoughts on the two of them.

The difference between the puffy and standard is made before the boat is cooled so it keeps its memory. Making changes after means the plastic will always resort to its original memory. So the deck will return to its shape and push the hull out of shape damaging the boat. Reversing it will result in major oil canning.

And to think everyone hated on the large rewind for “basically being a creek boat” 😂🧐. And before you correct me, I get it; how things are marketed and the evolving trends in paddling sway perception drastically; which is topic you cover quite a bit and I appreciate. But I got to laugh at people that bought a playful half slice and are considering “puffing in,” not that I’m judging them, just funny how trends sway. For me this just another wrinkle in the everlasting quest for a true quiver killer, and that’s ok, it’s fun. I just like having 4-5 boats. I like your perspective that this is just what the modern river runner is now. But as some of your ninja experiments are showing, the water line on 9’ tail dragging boat is not inherently a good choice for the average paddler. That was my takeaway in comparing a steeze to the OG at least. Have not tired an Indra, but I know I can spin my Code dam near 360d with one draw, and on runs where you need that option, I can’t see the Indra being a good substitute.

The best boat! But I'd take 10 lbs out if I could. I'm 5'11" and 170 lbs and my experience has been quite different than your notes from the review. Never felt like I didn't have enough tail, never spun out, don't have to paddle it like a creek boat. For me it is more like a half slice with bubble wrap but I did slide the seat back one click to make it track and hold a line better and make the bow super loose and easy to swing around. Only complaint is the weight but it doesn't feel too heavy on the water, only when carrying it. It feels like an M/L maybe even a Medium if I call it a creeker. Very confident in the Indra. Wearing through the Supernova-style edges quite fast on 15+ Green laps.
