I can't tell if that is a rap battle between two rival males or a male/female couple. The females are smaller than males. That looks like two males fighting it out, but it often turns nasty with physical attacking between males, whereas these two are quite civil.

There has often been conjecture about tui singing in ultrasonic frequencies in those instances where they open their beak but there is no apparent sound emitted. at 1:03 I slowed the video to 0.25 speed and there is definitely complex high pitched notes happening in those "quiet" periods.

Very nice place.I have been to New Zealand last year from north to south ,from Auckland to Picton,Kaikoura,Christchurch,Queensland and Milford Sound ,but i didnt know about this wonderful place.I should have like to see a tui bird,kea bird...,but ..wasnt possible.Thank you for sharing.I enjoy a lot with your videos.Greetings from Spain.
