Mine came with the same diagram but with 2 push/pulls, One for tone and one for volume. Using this diagram, which is the one that i also got, leaves volume push pull useless. I dunno why is that. Any advice would be appreciated since i cant make mine work since its draining battery even without the guitar cable plugged in.

locking tuners don't lock the strings. the lock only affects string change's.
@shawnomack39275 ай бұрын
Why would you replace the tuners on a guitar with a locking nut?
@illumindonnie6 ай бұрын
Just wanted to say thank you for the tutorial. I upgraded my tuners on my RG7321 project.

I thought you didnt need to ground with an active setup? Im tempted to do this as i want the boden standard with the light coloured neck but also want the fishmans which they dont seem to sell

Because... If you are a normal (right-handed person), you can drink your coffee with your left hand, while you're writing, or do whatever I'll see what to do with your dominant hand... 💯

I know this video is from 7 years ago so maybe this wasn't an option back then with the fishmans, but if it was, why didn't you opt to use two push pull pots for more tonal voicings instead of one push pull and one non push pull?

Shouldn't the tuners be staggered?
@azathothic Жыл бұрын
Only if you have the straight headstock like on a Fender the slanted break on an Ibby you don't use staggered.

Hi! I have a 1998 RG270DX that I'm hoping to restore. Do you have any idea what the locking nut specs are?! I can't seem to find what it is anywhere :( Also - which Gotoh Tuners did you use?
@jhmusic12 жыл бұрын
If you haven't found your answer yet, the nut specs for the 270DX are 400mm (15.75") radius and 43mm wide. You can buy them from ibanezrules, also those tuners are Gotoh SG381s

Here's a better way to mark the holes: After you align them, take the drill bit you are going to use to drill the holes (I use a #40, which is .098"), because you want to use a drill bit that is the diameter of the shank, NOT the threads, take the drill bit in your fingers, place it in the hole and put a drill START(basically you are "spotting the hole) by turning it and actually start to drill the hole, slightly. You can never go wrong this way.

Oo, i've always clamped the neck string locks sideways instead of the right way, just because I liked the look of them sideways lol. Oh well, i'll keep doing them sideways, no issues yet haha.
@KyleP1333 жыл бұрын
They're also curved to match the slope of the nut that the strings are on, so when you turn them sideways, you're squeezing them towards each other one specific spot in the nut. It may still work but it's not ideal for several reasons.
