Thanks for this video. I just did these mods on my zero edge II. Modifying the ZPS plastic stops helped a lot. Now the trem works like it should. The new brass block seems to help as well. I did not do any tests, but my ear tells me there is a little bit more bite, and more sustain. Not a huge difference. Could also be new strings, my mind playing tricks on me. Who knows. I did weigh the blocks. The OEM block weighed 73gr. The KGC block weights 111gr. For comparison, the FU Tone for the Zero Edge II (non ZPS) weighs 106gr.

Amazing video...I love the edge zero bridge and the intonation tool but I don't really like the ZPS system. The edge zero 2 is basically the same bridge but without the ZPS, but for whatever reason they got rid of that really awesome intonation tool thing! I wish I knew the reasoning behind that.

Great video! Now I am wating my Ibanez S470 Korea with ZR tremolo. Also I am really worried about very small detail of this tremolo, I am talking about steel tube which holds the rod. It's breaks really often, if there any good replacement for it?

Do the New heavier trem block make a softer whammy bar as a colateral consecuense ? In the market fu tone has big block made of cooper and titanium ? Anny coment wich one is better ?

I haven't finished watching this video, because I have to leave for work. But honestly, I've never had any problems with this bridge. At first I had problems setting it up properly because with the stop rod installed it's held in place whatever your setup might be. After taking the stop rod out and setting it up, I've had no problems at all. No ski ramp here, perfectly flush with or without the stop rod installed. Also no popping sound when using the tremelo after having let it sit for a while, although I can imagine that happening overtime. Then again, mine has 5 years of abuse with no issues at all. Could it just be a bad batch?

If you took the stop rod out, you would effectively be removing the source of both problems. Both issues are caused by the stop rod itself, but I preferred to keep it in because it was one of the main design features of the entire system.

+Axe Hacks Sorry, I meant to say I put the stop rod back in after setting the unit up correctly. I gig the RGD weekly without the problems you're having. Just today I only had to tune inbetween sets. I'll sometimes take the stop rod out, when I feel like fluttering. It's not my favourite unit, but mine seems to work better than most I guess...

great video mate ! awsome channel very instructive ! thinkin abt purchasing an ibanez guitare with the edge zeo and just wanted to know , how stable is the tuning on this floating bridge ? how does the "ZERO POINT SYSTEME" react to heavy palm muting does it alternate the tuning ? does bending one of the strings affect the others ? I v had this kind of issues with the LO-PRO EDGE ( john petrucci signature model jpm100 P 3 ) thanks for you attention ! peace out

Is there anyway you can tell whether the bridge is parallel to the body? How do u know?

I understand the limitations of the plastic grooves there, but does adding the brass block make much of a difference or is it just ergonomics with the stock bridge slanting?

Sorry, that probably could've been clearer. The brass block is strictly for sonic improvement, has nothing to do with the bridge angle / stop bar position.

Hey! I live in a place where there's not many guitar centers or people who can fix my guitar for me but I'm having the same 'popping' sound when I dive and so on, is there any other possible solution you know that could help me solve this (rather than making the plastic holder more round). Thanks a lot!

In that case I would probably just remove the stop bar & let it float like a normal trem.

What do you think of this bridge personally? Do you prefer it over the Edge Pro or Edge Lo Pro?

Lo Pro is king :-) The Edge Zero is fine, it's probably my second favorite of the Ibanez tremolos but the Edge Zero is just perfection.

My 1570 has a edge pro on it. I dont know shit about ibanezes and it doesnt stay in tune very well. Which is best in your opinion?

The edge pro is one of the best tremolo bridges you can get. Probably just needs some TLC. Check the condition of the knife edges & posts. ibanezrules.com can be a great resource for info & parts.
