The Toronto comedians of the 90s were all insanely understated and underrated mainly bc of how humble they all are/were about their influence. FYI Norm, Jim Carrey, Harland Williams, and Tom Green ALL came from the same comedy club to the US in the early 90s and each became icons of comedy

You know how we say that some people could read the phone book and make it sound compelling? Norm could read the phone book and make it the most hilarious thing you've ever heard. He just had this special gift for being funny, and I don't know how to explain it. Even if the joke wasn't particularly funny or went over your head, *somehow* he knew how to make it land anyway.

Here I am, 29 years old, the night before my exams which will conclude my second year of a university degree, watching this video for the 50th time. I learned about Norm a day after he died. I was working a low-paid job as a labourer on a construction site. He has had a huge influence on my life and I look forward to shaking his hand in the Kingdom of God.

Lex always sounds like he's really high and looking at porn on his phone while he's barely listening to you talk. Also, I don't understand where he came from or why he's famous. Or what he's supposed to be good at.

Hi I just discovered and watched all of the Styrofoam Bonfire and 55 Folks videos in a 24 hour span. I don’t know what to think other than I’ve subscribed to both channels and completely enthralled. Keep making stuff that interests you and don’t give in to people on the internet.

29:23 - you know what this reminds me of? The story of Jacob and how he had to keep working for Rachael's dad, Laban, for 7 years then 7 more years then 7 more years, all for this cute young lady (who liked false idols). Finally he is allowed to marry 'Rachael', but it turns out dad played a dirty trick on him. In his marital bed lay Leah, Rachael's older sister, that Jacob never even met. Guess what? Had to work another 7, and he had have to keep Leah, which God used for good. Anyway, this mess reminds me of the famous Bible story.

"Get out there and make the subtle realisations in life, right? I mean, get out there and live! Of course, we gotta play the hand we're dealt but shit, don't forget that you were dealt a hand in the first place!" - a quote I made up by Norm MacDonald

All the the good talk show hosts were gone after Craig Ferguson quit, about the same time Fallon took over. I wonder if Craig got a “visit” like Chappell? “Join us or quit.” All of them now, the two Jimmies, Colbert and the rest, just spew propaganda, and, worse, they’re not funny. Sound familiar?
