hey! i didn't make the song, but i think this part is probably most similar to breakcore, or possibly drumstep/atmospheric d+b

as far as i know, DOS does support ansi escape codes, so if i were able to write it into an executable compatible with DOS it would probably work, actually. that would require fully rewriting it though as i don't imagine python is dos compatible

@@plaaosert, as a 14 year old, how can I run this python animation???
@plaaosert3 ай бұрын
luckily, your age does not preclude you from using python. I'm assuming you're using windows 1) install python (www.python.org/) 2) install git (gitforwindows.org/) 3) use your command prompt (cmd), navigate to a location of your choice and clone the repository: "git clone github.com/plaaosert/credits_public" 4) install the python dependencies: "python -m pip install just-playback", "python -m pip install keyboard", "python -m pip install colorama" 5) run the script - navigate into the folder and use "python credits.py"

Did you hardcode the frames in a file or what?
@plaaosert3 ай бұрын
the animation operates on a system i called "generators". elements (such as the scrolling text, or the ocean) are each created by a generator, then layered together to combine into a single frame. generators can be added and removed at will in scenes, while also keeping a persistent store of data, which allows them to generate predictable patterns with far less work than it would take to manually create every scene. for more information, see my code, linked in the description.
