Agree totally with the review on zippos. Some guys make it sound like you use one and your whole smoking experiences tastes like lighter fluid. Just not true at all.

I don't think you have to rub out any plugs flakes cakes or rolls because it was meant to be able to tear a chunk off and stuff it in a pipe when being on the windy topside of a ship or just being in the field in general.

Vinegar in my pipe is a straight turn off. That’s why I steer clear from so many sutliff and Seattle pipes club stuff. First noticed it in Mississippi mud, and found it quite a few others, and I hate it

I keep a small rotation of 3-4 Dr. Grabow pipes and they seem to do the trick. If one expires I’m not too worried about it although I do the basics in upkeep.

Wilson, you are definitely not exaggerating. Simply Red Cake is simply delightful. I visited the shop on Wednesday and talked to Mr. Q. who seemed very pleased with the way this turned out, and he has every right to be. I’ve only had one bowl so far but I can say this: It is pure comfort. Sutliff being bought by STG throws a wrench in the works, but I’m confident Watch City will continue to produce wonderful Virginia blends. Thanks as always for your reviews. They’re great. I’m not surprised that you (and me) didn’t like it much or re order, However the flavors you identify are not quite popping out yet for me. I am sure I’m not preparing it correctly and it’s too thick in my bowl as well as smoking too fast 😑. Have about 3 oz left from the lb I got so,..😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨🫡🫡

The zippo drawback is that if it’s left for a week or so, it’s usually out of fuel. Also can be a messy process to refill. The fuel evaporates fast. That being said it’s still a must have and provides a great flame.

Hi Wilson, I enjoyed your review of Watch City Red w/ Perique. I'm a retired pastor/ Chaplain and my kids gave me a pipe for my retirement (kind of cute). The grandkids gave me a can of C&D Kajun Kake which I have enjoyed. C&D describe it as "sweet red Virginias and just a touch of Perique". I grew up catholic and I understand what you are saying my point is to be dnt judge other people for what they do your not so perfect yourself. And if you ever meet me you be like o he's gang related. I smoke cigar but I got into pipes smoking couple months ago when I went to the pipe store I was not judge not when time from the sales man. I think dnt matter what religion or what politics you in people could get along with out bring that up.

Our world famous Red Virginia is kissed with Perique, plressed into crumble cake and aged for a somewhat sweet, tangy and fruity variation on a classic blend!")
