Really entertaining video. I've never heard of a lot of these hacks before but they all seem pretty cool. In other news, I finally got around to buying Darkstalkers. Is there any de facto 'beginner character' I should play first? Also, I did not know people hated that sprite lol.

@@IntrestingYTObserver Nice to know my videos got you to try the Darkstalkers games! Just pick whichever character looks the coolest. The only ones who I would say aren’t beginner friendly are Victor and Anakaris.

Thanks for the response. I'll try out all the characters in training mode, but I'm normally drawn to rushdown characters in these kinds of games.

Nice summary of SHC's history, but there are 2 corrections I'd like to mention for The S Factor: There's actually 2 types of power sneakers that can either speed you up or slow you down. Problem is, it's rather hard to notice the difference between the SOAP shoe (which slow you down) and regular Sonic shoe (which speeds you up) monitors without looking at the monitor very closely. While Sonia doesn't have a spin dash, she does have a spinning tornado move (done by holding the A button) that can earn speed quickly. That alone makes Sonia the much preferred character in S Factor. This doesn't excuse the rest of the hack being bad though, because there's no redeeming the later special stages and White Blaster Act 3, no matter how you approach them.

The controversy with the 7th contest (2009) can be summed up as such: Entries to the contest used to fall under three categories. Public (where the entry could be downloaded and played), Partial Private (where some screenshots and videos were provided, but no download), and Private (where nothing needed to be made public, and the entry was judged by judges only). Sonic Boom won that contest, but the public were rightfully annoyed as the contest was won by a project they knew nothing about. No screenshots or videos were provided for the public to see what had won, and all we got was a description and statements from the judges confirming why it had won. It took a few years, but SHC finally phased out this controversial category.

I love the game and I agree 2D is the way to go. I just hope that Jada gets the license so they can make some figures that will match up with their Street Fighter and Marvel figures.

Oshima Sonic and the red eye's Sonic are basically Sonic.Exe. Probably why they didn't use those models for the final release of sonic adventure dreamcast.

Watching your darkstalkers videos, i just confirm that Capcom should make good animes of dying IPs instead of new videos games or remakes. I mean, they've done animes in the past (bad ones i know) so getting their feet on that ground should be much better than doing live action series of their franchises. With all these streaming plarforms, they might end up reaching success.

Tbh, watching this video again really just shows how deulisonal older sonic fans are. Like i understand alot of this but it seems like alot of older sonic fans dont even like sonic and just make all these bullcrap videos doging on the fanbase (which is well deserved). But like thats just a small minority. Pretty much what im saying is that older sonic fans arent really even fans because of all of this. And it sad but i read alot of the comments and you only heart the comments doging on the fanbase or the franchise, but some of the actually good comments dont get hearted. Im probably just being stupid, but imo older sonic fans are just as bad as younger sonic bans (but not worse lol).

@@The1SunshineFeeler I'm not really trying to say it's a bullcrap video infact it really good but it has alot of concepts that I see alot of older sonic fans use. Like saying the franchise is purely for kids while mario is family friendly. Not like your video is mindless hate, or any of that at all. It just some of your points feel bad faith criticism, you would know. Your video definitely has alot of good faith criticism and I like the video.

@@The1SunshineFeeler I feel like another part that makes it feel bad faith is the intro. Even other youtubers that make these kinds of videos would say sonic is in a better state right now. Just sounds bad faith because I feel like the franchise is atleast in a somewhat better state then it was before like during the 2010s. Sonic frontiers did to well with general audiencs. Also isn't the sonic fandom more infamous on the internet not in the real world? Also how is someone joking about a franchise mean the public doesn't have a good impression? People joke about Mario, Kirby and other video game mascots. The sonic for kids section sounds more like a excuse because of course sonic is targeted towards kids but so are franchises like mario and kirby yet adults can get into those franchises it's kind of the same with pokemon go to a lesser extent. But overall the video is like most of the other videos on the topic, this video is helpful and has good points. It's really just those points for me.
