Careerist is a SCAM!!!! After my cohort got into, and completed the course they said they no longer applied to jobs for you through their “job applying software”! I went through a careerist training for sale engineering and also hired a linked in and resume consultant after having a polished resume and linked in and feeling very confident and ready to start in the position I haven’t gotten one interview offer. For note I have never had a problem getting an interview and I always get the job after getting them. So I reached out to careerist after having problems and their career “coaches” told me that to be able to use their money back guarantee I would have to apply to 100 jobs a day and if I never got a job off they would then refund my money. No problem I was already doing close to that if not more. The problem is they want me to apply to SDR and BDR roles and accept those positions. But after being in sales before and doing a bootcamp for sales also I decided I wanted something different for myself. This I why I took the SE bootcamp through careerist which was recommended by TechIsTheNewBlack on KZfaq. But ultimately it was a money grab from the start he initially paid $1200 when I went to ask about pricing it was $3500 so I started saving 3 months later when it came time to start they had raised the price to $7500 and I fought them on it and they honored the initial $3500 price. But ultimately although the course did teach me a lot it was a scam in the sense that all their students are getting the jobs with all these big tech companies and it’s backed by a guarantee. They don’t tell you that you’ll have to accept an SDR and BDR role first and then in 6 months to a year hopefully if everything goes well you maybe able to make a lateral move to an SE position. Ultimately buyer beware CAREERIST IS A SCAM! But I am still trying to apply to SE roles alas with no success. My energy for it is starting to wane though. My current job is very energy and time demanding and adding four hours of job apps to my very strenuous day isn’t super sustainable and pretty exhausting I’ve been at it since August. Idk if I have much left in the gas tank. I applied to tech for a better work life balance but since I’ve started trying it’s actually led to a worse quality of life and absolutely atrocious mental health. I’ve been put on antidepressants and had suicidal thoughts. I’m seriously considering giving up on the venture all together and maybe learning something different. Thanks for all you do I’ll take any advice you have, even if it’s someone I should consult. Peace ✌🏽

I'm confused as to how Careerist is lying to black people specifically. Like it looks like anyone can hop on there and go through the same processes so how does this pertain to black people specifically
@HardenTheGift Жыл бұрын
The title speaks to the relative distribution of people who enroll in the program. Likely because we tend to be more open to higher-paying opportunities with lower barriers to entry than other groups of people. Also...I think you mean "only" and not "specifically," but in either case, the title does not exclude non-black people.
@Dedric Жыл бұрын
@@HardenTheGift How is it Careerists fault though that black people "tend to be more open to higher-paying opportunities with lower barriers to entry than other groups of people"? If the title does not exclude non-black people then why word it that way? The title makes it seem like Careerist is targeting black people and black people specifically. And I mean specifically. The words can be used interchangeably depending on the topic so I don't know what the point of attempting to correct was for and either way it's not even on topic if you understood what I was implying
@Dedric Жыл бұрын
@@HardenTheGift The title and content of the video makes it seem like Careerist has some kind of mental control over black people. As if we can't choose to research the programs and make a decision on our own. It seems like yet again accountability is being avoided. "Careerist is lying to black people cause you aren't guaranteed a 6 figure career in tech within months". It's dumb
@HardenTheGift Жыл бұрын
@@Dedric I wouldn't blame Careerist for how people make decisions, but I believe that institutions should use honest marketing practices, especially when publicizing expected financial outcomes. Recently, a class-action lawsuit was filed against USC for its marketing practices targeted at low-income communities, and practices by Careerist are similar. The argument about using "Black..." in the title is essentially the same as that used by critics against the slogan "Black Lives Matter." That the exclusion of non-Black people in the title is a way of stating that the lives of non-Black people didn't matter. This logic is incorrect. Also, there is a difference between "specifically" and "only" within the context here. This is because while "Black people" were specified in the text (which you correctly stated), they were not necessarily specified as the only ones impacted. For example, the statement “I went to the park yesterday” does not mean that I was the only one who went to the park yesterday. Ultimately, they were specified because of the disproportionate percentages of Blacks who flock to the program only to be disappointed graduates afterward.
@Dedric Жыл бұрын
@@HardenTheGift Comparing the title of a KZfaq video to a political movement is absurd. Not only is the title pertaining to black people specifically, but you're making them the main topic of video as well. Again how is it Careerist's fault that "Blacks who flock to the program" leave as "disappointed graduates". This comes with anyone trying to use any program. There's people who go to accredited University's paying thousands of dollars only to end up leaving disappointed. You're doing everything, but answering my question. How is Careerist lying to black people specifically, and I mean specifically, when anyone is able to apply and have the same results good or bad. If the title doesn't necessarily exclude the idea that other races are affected then why title it as if black people are the only ones being affected. At the end of the day it seems like you're either avoiding accountability for black people's lack of research before going into these programs or you're purposely titling the video that way to get shock views. Either way it's dumb.

Hey there, first thank u so much for these videos it’s been soooo helpful and informative. I do have a question I’m hoping you can help me with. I live in low income housing have been here for 3 years my apartment complex is HUD owned but my partner and I share expenses he pays our rent with his savings account and I pay all of our other bills with my checking I make more than he does And bring in more income but he doesn’t get much money so he withdraws his entire check and we pay our rent with money orders so the savings bank book will not match up with the total in rent? We’ve been here 3 years never been late or missed a payment. This is the only thing I can see holding us up. So can my apartment property manager write out a rental ledger to verify our rental payments and we can write LOE’s for our prior rental payments and continuing forward just pay our rent through my checking account? I don’t want this to push us back we are so ready to do this. I look forward to hearing back from you.
@HardenTheGift2 жыл бұрын
NACA will be concerned about whether the rent is paid on time, and your savings aftwrwards. if you pay woth money orders, you remember to save the receipts for documentation. Usually, the rental ledger will suffice on its own. Worst case scenario, you will have to documemt 3 months of payments from your account. If you have not done so, I also recommend that you see how much your HCV contribution will be towards the purchase of your home.

You can begin the process in GA and get NACA Qualified. The Atlanta office has/had a number of really good counselors. @HardenTheGift3 жыл бұрын
The purpose of payment shock is to get a borrower acquainted with the "shock" of having higher debt for X number of months. So, technically, any recurring debt that no longer exists can be counted towards payment shock, if structured properly. I once used clothes purchases and gifts, but the key is that it must be debt that no longer exists and it is ultimately an underwriter judgment call.
