Had the pleasure of watching Archie Griffin and his Ohio State buckeyes play the USC Trojans in the 1974 Rose Bowl. Woody Haynes vs John McKay Cornelius Green Vs Pat Hayden. Anyway, as a 15 year-old kid, I was absolutely in awe of the whole situation. Ohio State buckeyes went on to beat the USC Trojans. Don’t ask me the score because I don’t remember. Fight On!

As an Oregon fan, I don’t understand the reasoning. The bottom of the big 10 sucks. The bottom of the PAC 12 at least the last couple years is way better. So saying we are going up against Beth competition every week is false maybe bigger but not better.

The pac teams are not strong. They’re good at offense. But have no clue how to play strong defense. Washington had a good offensive line because they played in the pac 10. With no one who had defense. Hence they looked better until they played a big ten team.

Everyone’s schedules will be significantly tougher this isn’t like Maryland and Rutger where they brought in bottom tier teams. The four PAC-12 teams are much more like when Penn. St. joined.

Last year Michigan was an example of how Big 10 teams grind down defenses. You better have a solid 6-8 starting defensive linemen to rotate them to keep them fresh.

Everyone keeps talking about how physical Oregon is. But you have to ask yourself compared to what? The soft , touch football teams in the Pac12? We'll see how they hold up when every team they play punches them in the mouth on every snap.

All of it is based on recruiting class rank or blue chip percentage which is elite at UO including in the trenches. That projects well for them. Blue chip ratio is the basis for all preseason picks and ratings. NIL is now the primary vehicle teams use to load talent and you can stack rank opponents based on dollars spent. tOSU purportedly has the highest player salary in CFB. FYI, UO NIL induced the top B1G RB to transfer in 2022. Google Bucky Irving. For this season they picked up Oklahoma's starting QB. Don't sleep on Nike U.

Go look at the roster and recent recruiting classes and portal acquisitions. You’re stuck in the mindset of the old Chip Kelly teams from a decade ago. Starting with Mario and continued by Lanning, Oregon has been built from the ground up in the mold of an SEC team. The only team that matched Oregon’s physicality last season was UW, and their offensive line won the Joe Moore Award with a bunch of 5th and 6th year players. Oregon will have no problem with any team in the Big 10 in terms of physicality, and Ohio State and Michigan will be the only teams that will even challenge them on that front. And you could argue Oregon has the more complete team in the trenches considering neither OL and DL are a weak point, when there are OL questions for Michigan and Ohio State.

Ask their players how they feel physically after playing Rutgers, Illinois Nebraska Iowa and Wisconsin. Oregon may vary well win every game, but you're kidding yourself if you don't think they're going to get the absolute dog shit kicked out of them in process.

Oregon hasn’t had any trouble competing with Big 10 teams in bowl games or non-conference games in recent memory. The Big 10 has also had some of the worst offenses in the country the last 5+ years - and that can be backed up by stats. So Oregon’s D has been playing against a lot better offenses than anything the Big 10 can offer outside of Ohio State, Michigan and maybe Penn State.

You have about 5 teams that could win the conference. In the Big12 you have about 10 that could win it. The PAC teams coming to the Big12 will have worse records.
