June 18, 2024, 36" still not restocked yet. I've been wanting to do this project since I first saw these videos back in 2019. I'm definitely excited about the plastic forms as an option. I think that's a significant improvement over wood forms because you can mass produce these and get more of them out. It makes way more sense to me to sell the molds than the finished concrete forms. Also, some ideas for people to try: Aircrete Hempcrete Color Dyed Concrete Retaining Wall Gardens Above Ground Ponds Enjoy.

I wonder if epoxy or polyurethane over cured aircrete would be hard enough to survive the string trimmer

My question, are they stackable? If I utilize cinder blocks, I'm able to stack them to a height that I do not need to bend as I garden over the next 15-20 yrs as I age. Four to five high at 8" each would be ideal for me.

I would love to see you substituting the lava rock for the rock and substituting the vermiculite for the sand, see if you get lighter weight and more durability

I wonder if using the double stacked raised beds inside a greenhouse? work? using the lava or vermiculite panels on bottom and the air crete panels on top...fill inside with old wood, limbs, leaves, etc. last remaining 10-12" with good compost for planting make it all longer lasting.
@2shay3378 күн бұрын
I watched a similar video of the forms like yours made but made it using air-crete. just as durable, only lighter in weight.

Darn, out of stock, I'm down for one. Btw, mold release wax works well for concrete also, I made a bunch of benches out of concrete for my church some time ago.

Why wouldn't you put the rafter hangers on the bottom of the lag bolt plate? Genuinely curious as I am also building a shed extension.
@MANaboutTOOLS10 күн бұрын
If I was using joist hangers I would have. Then notched the rafter at the bottom for the slope angle. But, I was using a different type of hanger that is also nailed to the top of the lag bolt plate. If I was doing it again, I'd use the joist hanger with a notch in the rafter method.

Great video! Quick question can I use 2x3? How can I modify this for a door awning? Or maybe this would be a good suggestion for a video on building a door awning! Thanks for your help!

I absolutely LOVE this idea. Id love a model that was 12" tall but all I see are 8". Looking to do a big garden project in the near future but I want/need my beds to be 1ft tall.

Did you not put a membrane on top of the foundation blocks before framing the walls?

Can the moulds be stacked safely? Say 4high that still would be too low for our needs. Absolutely love the possibilities especially if can be stacked to achieve the height we need. Need more like 16in finished height. We have 2-8in boards stacker to achieve approximately 16in tall raised beds

This is great content, thank you very much! I built my first raised bed using concrete blocks. It was so simple, a rectangular shape, but proved to be useful by the years. So I have been thinking how can I mass produce it by molds, and by me. And I always got to a deadend, beacuse I wasn't thinking in a waterproof desing, my bad. 🙂 Well, I would buy your molds, even if they aren't measured in metrics, but sadly I am located in Hungary. So the only thing I could do to help you is an advice: upgrade your raised beds, to keep the water in them you need for july and august. And it is not that hard, you only need to dig in deeper, and cover the rest. 😉

Can you make one with a smaller taper. It looks like the blocks dont align flush and it would probably be hard to stack them for a higher bed.
@MANaboutTOOLS16 күн бұрын
Any smaller taper and you won't be able to get the casting out of the form.

Fantastic! Thanks so much. I've been trying to find a way to cover both ends of our screened in porch when it rains. This fits it to the t'. I've got some leftover metal roofing and they will fit nicely. Thanks for not having blaring music playing during instruction. Can't wait to download the instructions. Have a great day!
