Full 3-part video of the Monterey Bay Aquarium! Say, Zak, visit the Steinhart Aquarium at the California Academy Of Sciences soon! And here are 5 zoo trivia questions for you & your girlfriend.... 1) How many years ago did the San Francisco Zoo originally house spectacled bears? 2) How many years ago did the Steinhart Aquarium at the California Academy Of Sciences bred blacktip reef sharks before they moved out of the Stingray/Eagle Ray Pool exhibit? 3) Which area is the Sacramento Zoo & their animals moving to this year? 4) How many years ago did the London Zoo housed elephants before they moved to the Zoo Whipsnade at the United Kingdom? 5) What year did the Aquarium Of The Bay welcomed 4 river otters to their new exhibit home? Bubbling Cryptoclidus! 🦈

My apologies for rehashing recent content that most of you have already seen! I wanted to continue the streak of posting once a week, and it's not always smart to most original content on a holiday. I plan on doing something similar with the the Wilds in Ohio later in the year by combining all three parts - except that video will have all new footage and commentary. If for whatever reason you wanted to watch each episode individually: PART ONE (6 GALLERIES): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sL1ie7qf3tLDqWw.html PART TWO (3 GALLERIES): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sLuhdceLy8-zdKM.html PART THREE (1 GALLERY): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gNuAZrWiysmsoHU.html *Please checkout* www.seafoodwatch.org, and start making a difference today! The horticulture team does a fantastic job of taking care of the natural Florida landscape as well as adding pockets of color! They have also done a lot of work to help the conservation of butterflies, especially the endangered Atala butterfly!

The ghost shark is part of a group of cartilaginous fish called chimeras which appeared alongside the first true sharks some time around the Devonian. This group of fish would continue to diversify through out the carboniferous and permian. A few species are even theorized to have survived into the triassic. Unfortunately members like the ghost shark and rat fish are some of the few members of this dynasty still alive today.

I'm probably biased as a Safari Park employee, but very curious how you felt nothing other than the platypus stood out. Our open savannah habitats alone set us apart form the vast majority of other zoos out there. But to each their own, I suppose.

I'm used to seeing such exhibits in The Wilds in Ohio and saw fewer but similar features in North Carolina. The rest of the park felt outdated compared to its reputation. I am, however, giving SDZSP another chance actually quite literally tomorrow to see if my opinion will change. It didn't help that last time half of the collection was off exhibit. It marked the first Zoo visit I ever had that left me empty-handed footage wise.

The zoo exhibit that blew my mind was one for brown bears in Cabarceno zoo in Cantabria, Spain. It had a enormous cliff and You are above and the bears are below, it had beautiful waterfall that went through the incredible rock work.

Wow. Linking three habitats together like that and integrating elephants is very unique. It mixes up the usual formula we see in African Savannah sections. I'll definitely make Dallas Zoo a priority if I ever make it to Texas.

You definitely missed out on the walk-through Barnyard in the Paws On section where you can pet the animals. It's nothing crazy, but it's more interaction and education opportunities as all of those animals are ambassadors

I love the Monterey Bay Aquarium! Your tour of this aquarium has been great. But remember that it is a Sea Jelly and not a Jelly Fish. That is something I learned at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Thanks for this three part tour.

I agree 100% about Sea World. We can keep Chimps and Gorillas in cages, but it's not okay to do so with an Orca... um ok. The idea of captive animals is sad, but they live good lives and are ambassadors for their species, generating funding/resources for scientific studies and protection for wild populations.

The most notable exhibit I have visited was the aquarium in Osaka, Japan, which houses whale sharks and manta rays. I believe it is the single largest aquarium tank (or at least was when I visited almost ten years ago).
