I would love this to be animated!!!! It could have a very iconic aesthetic. I would personally pay attention to the use of artificial lighting that tries to emulate the sun. The look of the plants, they need to look amazingly healthy. I would love a rough look to the animation perhaps as if everyone and everything was covered by a layer of dirt. I just need this to be unique. I would hate it too look just like any other anime. It has to be able to communicate the hopelessness, as well as the manga does. I'm very chill about this clearly

No lies there, this is absolutely fire! First 3 chapters i fell in love with the panels. Attention to detail is all over this. The story is flowing too, if animated it’s gonna be better than Hells Paradise based on plant usage.

Grade collectors editions and signed ones

I've seen this with many old comics. Dude gets 8.5 on this comic nobody has heard about. Goes on eBay highest grade available is 8.0 for this comic. He says I have the highest grade on the market I can charge whatever I want x5 what 8.0 goes for. Then people think this copy is worth that much. A dumbass like me buys the 8.5, a week later 3 9.0s on eBay for half the price.

Do you know if grading manga is a thing people in Japan do?

The vid says they check for printings/reprints 😂😂😂. Beckett better be telling us how they identify the edition number because there is a manga publisher out there notorious for not changing the publishing details page even though it is a reprint. There are a bunch of first editions that are not true first editions in the market as it is. The vibe Beckett puts out really feels like the people selling pickaxes and shovels during the gold rush.

*You have to consider the mindset of English and Japanese collectors -- the Japanese manga and magazines are often the first editions of their English counterparts and require encapsulation due to the condition they're usually obtained in ~ Not to mention much are rarer than even Golden Age comics due to the Japanese perspective - of old, mind you - to throw away their manga once read due to the dimensions and space-pollution of the books ~*

The fact that they blocked me and anyone that had even the slightest bit of criticism tells me everything I need to know about their target demographic.

Grading stuff is so incredibly dumb, especially for interactive media like games, manga, anime, comics etc. While I totally agree that grading cards greatly affects the market for those that simply want to play with them at least graded cards can stil be played with, their function isn't lost. But with games and manga to strip them entirely of their intended purpose is stupid. I know in the case of games 90% of the value is in the condition of the fucking plastic it's wrapped in

I think Red Letter Media’ nukie grading video does an excellent job of demonstrating how ridiculous the whole grading business and collecting market for anything can get. Personally, I’ve only ever bought “collector’s items” on a couple occasions and in both cases it was for books that have been out of print for decades and just happen to be some of my favorite books of all time. I paid like 20 times the cover price and they weren’t even graded. I just wanted to have it and read it because I love it. There’s a place for a collector’s market for sure. But it sucks that it can so easily turn from passion to greed and debauchery. And of course there’s always someone ready to rake in the dollars…
