You should NEVER put a collar on a Pomeranian as a lead. They should only wear harnesses because they are prone to tracheal collapse. They have very fragile tracheas.

Ate people who do that possibly thinking of cats? Cats love a good hand sniff, i know many who will shy away until you let them sniff too. Not so much dogs though

People forget that vets are a 'for profit' business. They don't care if neutering affects the bone growth etc. of a dog. In fact they're probably glad, because then they can charge for bone pain medication. Same with annual vacccccinations. There's no data that says they're safe and effective. Vets make a fortune from the side effects. Ker-ching! Vets have the highest suicide rate of any profession. They know. They have to give the same size dose vaccccine for a Chihuahua as they do a Great Dane. They are sell outs.

My husky has held her pee from overnight until 6 pm because we went outside several times and she just refused to 😂 I felt so bad but she didn't want anything to do with being outside in that heat. (We are in Canada, so 30 is practically a heatwave)

I have frozen kongs with sausage meat and Squeezy cheese. I have some deep slow feeders with some cooked mince beef and fat frozen. I take them out at 6am or 9pm. Few times booked the dog park and it's been OK for a nerf gun and some tennis balls but some days even though we booked it's too hot and just cancel.

I know the feeling. It is very hard to not do this. I have a shy pup and she HATES when people do this because she thinks they are trying to touch her. So I have had to force myself to stop doing the this when greeting new dogs. That and learning to advocate for her space.

Love this ❤ we been doing this with our dogs but we actually take them on two walks one in the morning one into the evening before the sun sets. Both around 30 mins each to make it a hour for a full day to work on their pulling right now so we can start going farther ❤

Oh my gosh, this is such a wonderful little talk. I have a really crazy Border Collie that my life revolves around him but this little video is so true when you think about it the more you give a hyper athletic dog the more they need. I’m gonna really start trying to calm down and not give my dog, six or seven hours a day either stimulation or a walk or something for his mind to do. I’m gonna try to lower his expectations thank you thank you do you have any other ideas? What to do with the overactive crazy dog? I do walk every day and yes because it’s been so hot I’ve been spraying the hose and having him run all around and I’m not sure if that’s making it worse or better, actually never really calms down
@shannonfrink7939

Border collies are tough because they’re purpose bred for a life of herding. Some dogs within the breed are more adaptable than others to a pet home, but it doesn’t sound like yours is one of them. If it’s young, it will slow down with maturity, but even then, a border collie’s “slow down with age” is vastly different than a Labrador’s. I think 6-7 hours a day is unrealistic and unsustainable for most people, and you’re a saint for achieving that. As smart as the breed is, maybe if you ease off gradually, and it matures a bit, you can meet in the middle!

Oh thank you for getting back. I’ve had Border Collie my whole life but this one that I have now he’s just a little bit of a special need one if that’s OK I love him very dearly and I think that’s good advise. Thank. You. What breed do you have. ?

Better yet, never put them in the situation where they're forced to greet you full stop. Leave the dog well alone as you have no right to greet them unless they choose to do so.

Hello, I am a newly certified dog trainer trying to gain as much knowledge and experience as I can. I am volunteering at a Humane Society with some behaviors. I have one big ask. Is there anyway to get a dog to stop pulling when you get it out of the kennel and all the other dogs are barking loudly, and getting more amped up. Do I just need to get some ear head phones and stand in the cage with him until he walks nicely out of the kennel run? It is hard to calm a big 11 month old puppy when there is so much commotion going on.

In the Netherlands its actually appreciated more. People do get mad is when they dont do the training or getting a trainer and just letting their dog live with one their whole life for years and years. Which to me is also sad. Its for safety, but put in the work so one day when they are ready, they can walk safely without one

Please don’t take this as sarcasm. I feel you probably have more ambition than me even though I would like to do this video. Here’s a good idea. Let’s see how close we can get an actual chicken or a turkey to cook in a car that’s hot.. I’m not joking. I bet you we could probably get it actually cooked. And imagine the views you could get in the awareness you could cause.🎉🎉🎉🎉

We had to muzzle our boy due too the new law, he is mega dog friendly and people friendly, loads of people would make a B line to come over and ask about him, ask what breed he is etc, say things like wow look at him he's stunning look at those bright blue eyes, NOW we are in a muzzle we get fingers pointed, looks of hate, looked at like we are some sort of nutters, so many people move out the way than before, they even cross the road etc. It took us a while to get him muzzle trained but we have made it a positive thing for him, he still goes to his training classes, which we thought we would have too stop. Thankfully there are still people who still go out their way too let their dogs say hello to him and also those that just want too meet & greet him.

Where do you live that you walk your dog on asphalt?! I cross the street from my garden over the parking lot that has stones, over to the next house where we start our tour on mowed lawn, shortly followed by 3 feet grass….and during the hike on the mountain we only have to cross one trail with asphalt that is 3m wide

In the US it gets waaay hotter than that and our dogs run around freely in our fenced in backyards and love it. We make sure to always have fresh water for them. People are out at dog parks. People have farm dogs that legit live outside. If you take care of your animal they are fine. For god sake homeless people own dogs here lol
