I really like the futuristic atmosphere and the particle effects when you beat the armor of of your enemy. Looks pretty good.

“How does the Saturn version (of NASCAR 98) fare?” (Gunshot sounds) Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. The cars drive well and that’s good, but this was one of EA’s lazier efforts on Saturn. It’s very choppy and cheap when compared to its PSX cousin, to say nothing of Daytona ‘95 and Daytona CE.

I always really loved the Sega CD version...

The game kinda sucks but with a couple of beers and some friends i can imagine it being fun for a while. I like the graphics and artstyle. Although animations could be a little better...

Back before this video, and probably about the same time you state you bought a Saturn from UK that never turned up, i too had that same thing happen, i bought two packages from two different sellers in the UK, essentially between the two sets i'd have had both model one and two Saturns boxed in mint condition, a boxed controller, boxed light gun, boxed Arcade Racer, boxed virtua stick, and boxed 6 player tap... Well those both got sent via Global Shipping Program, and after waiting some time i all of a sudden out of nowhere received a refund from PayPal, having not even made a request to find out where the packages were. So after some further looking into it, there is obviously someone in the UK involved with Ebay Global Shipping back then that has od had a brilliant Sega Saturn boxed mint collection. Both sets went missing at the same hub location, in the same week... I still have my original Australian launch day Sega Saturn boxed and on the shelf, i still remember picking that up from Game Xpress in Maroochydore on launch day...

You say you played this in the arcade, but then you never played the NEO-GEO version... They are one and the same!! Having played both and still owning the AES cart, the NEO-GEO version is noticeably better, as is the case with almost every NEO-GEO to 32-bit console port with varied levels of just how much better. The Saturn does a very good job with these games and certainly miles ahead of the Playstation, however it doesn't get all the way to arcade perfect. Fact of the matter is this version was obviously cheaper to buy back in the day than the $699 Mr Toys sold the NEO-GEO version for here in Australia when it released (yes, that really is how much some NEO-GEO AES carts were here back in the 90s)

Nothing wrong with the Sega guns, they were absolutely brilliant and dead accurate. I must have more than ten of the damn things here both blue and black. There is another issue there, if your trigger switches are very old and worn then that is just old video games and old hardware, that mod doesn't hurt the whole deal though.

This is indeed originally on the 3DO, i have it, the two are both the same for the most, but this version is a shade better though. Loved the course back in the day, it was great fun to play with 3 or 4 people playing skins mode.

This was a pretty good golf game for it's day, i can't remember if it was better on Saturn or PS1, but the PS1 also had a sequel which was also brilliant. The commentry was quite funny in some of these Actua Golf titles, but it was repetitive.

I actually liked this golf game, if you think delays and wait times are bad in this, try the 3DO version of PGA 96, you could physically walk to the ball in the amount of time it takes. It was still a good enough golf game for me to pump a fair amount of time into. This obviously isn't going to matter to you, but that shot arc system is very good, but it takes some knowledge on it's use.

This was pretty near a launch title for the Saturn here in Australia, and i got it very early on in the first couple weeks of launch day. This was also on 3DO, and i played it a fair bit there, but this version is better in almost every way. I played the hell out of it back in the day.

Now who's less bad? Center Ring Boxing or Reach?

I have this game on both 3do and Saturn, and as much as the control suck the way to fix the Saturn version is quite simple. Just play it for half an hour on the 3DO and then swap to the Saturn and you’ll think the game had a high-quality remaster LOL. Tho for all its flaws, I can’t help loving both versions. I wish they’d fix cyber taxi so it ran on the steam deck, which, at the date of this review, it doesn’t.

Dang just play the game and shut up. Never knew it was on the Saturn. Did you turn the music off to you could hear your self, or is it missing? Love the game on the Genesis.

This was my favorite golf game of the time. It actually had the clouds scrolling in the sky folk!!!! That alone made it worth purchasing.

Ahh these hipster douchbags! These games are SHOOTERS. 007, Halo, and CoD ruined the name for us. It’s a shame that we have call these game shmups so the youngsters know what we are talking about! And they need to get off my lawn and stop skateboarding on the sidewalk! Grrrrrrrrr. And if you’re like me and call these games shooters, remember to take a few pain meds so your back and knees don’t hurt today! Rrreeeeeee
