Try to look for connection name AC on the battery stainless cover (on the module) and connet it with the positive side of the battery

Engraving depth is less than other casios due to less thick base of the case. Simple as that. Keeps the weight down and the cost down as well

There’s two other ways to tell the fakes aswell, you can hold down the light button till Casio appears on the screen( Although a lot of dupes copy that) or you can do an lcd test by holding down all three buttons and compare them side by side to check differences

Do you know where to buy a replacement movement?

Where I live, these bracelets are really expensive - often 60 - 70 % of the new watch -, so that it is hardly worth replacing them. Most Casio rubber straps are way cheaper. Was it really woth it for you buying an old watch and pitting in a new original bracelet?

I would say that they are both authentic watches. They have the right screws and when you look at the displays at angle, you can read them clearly and usually the fakes when you put the display out of angle, you cannot read the letters clearly. When you pop the cover, they look exactly the same. Only other sign would be that Casio uses a quality battery And a uses a generic battery. But I would say that they are both authentic.

I was going to say fake with that backlight but all of the fakes seem to have completely different modules in them. The module really does look exactly the same as your other one (and mine too). No idea honestly. Also, PUR likely refers to polyurethane which is probably what the strap is made out of.

I recently bought a Japanese market DW5600e and found the engraving on the back is very faint as well. Not sure what that's all about. I have another that's about 8 years old but the engraving is very sharp.

The contact points locations on the replica watch's LCD aren't the same as on the Casio's, so that would never have worked. Also a little tip. Maybe you are aware, but here it is: You are using a Pozidriv screwdriver on Phillips screws, which is why the screwdriver is slipping so much. It's ok to use a Phillips screwdriver on Pozidriv screws, but not the other way around.

I am still wondering which bracelet is more comfortable. Can someone please tell me? Also when is silver on the top , maybe scratches will be visible because they will chip the paint and underneath is black.

This watch was used right near the end of the movie, Enemy of the State, so definitely 90s vintage. I also believe the higher the water resistance, the stiffer the springs in the pushers are.

Well.. It maybe a decade or so old, so Not quite a vintage watch. I’ve 7700 which I bought for $80 (new) recently and I love it. I gave a serious consideration to 7710 since it’s cooler, but my unpleasant experience with Casio’s negative displays made me go far 7700. I may end up buying a 7710 too in future ! Also, you mentioned AW-950. Did you mean AW-590 ? Ive 590 (and also 500) with similar dimensions as 7700/7710.

It's a shame he doesn't put on a two-tone black and silver metal bracelet that compliments its stainless steel and black watch!
