Imagine after leaving Deathrow and starting Aftermath records and in the midst of gangster rap being at its height Dre discovering this white boy with blonde hair who had a flow that at that point was never ever heard before with lyrics that till this day is still shocking. Dre left deathrow and knew he struck gold with slim shady and the fact that he was white amongst all the drama and controversy that came with it was only gonna skyrocket both their platforms to heights I’m sure neither of them could evens fathom at that time.

I've learned so much in the last few says looking at the different analyses of the video. It's fascinating. I had a lesson about the origins of that knock in the door, a shave & a haircut, 2 bits and it's origins in the black & white minstrels and the cake walks that enslaved people were forced to participate in. The detail in the video is insane. Kendrick is for the curious. If you aren't curious, you aren't going to appreciate Kendrick's genius.

Whitney was wearing a wife beater ......also there's a FAN spinning above them while they are dancing and he says "he a fan he a fan he a fan" All the shipping containers have CB1 on it (Cell Block 1)... and the 10 when hes doing hopscotch stands for 1-2-3-4-5 + 5 aswel as the obviously childrens game the shot with the owl alone is crazy ; the symbolism in that single shot is mad, Owls are predators who eat other animals for food , He caged a predator , the owl is looking at kendrick being "Free" From its POV , from Kendricks POV the owl is in jail , is he saying drake belongs in jail . also the owl is bowing down while kendrick is walking away . the whole damn shot is so multi layered Also the hand dance hes doign during the pushup scene is a refrence to a viral tiktok dance drake did with a 17 year old

*copies & pastes* lol, So many reactions happening. KENDRICK & DAVE FREE DID WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE! 🔥 Ended him for the Culture on Juneteenth with “The Pop Out Concert” for the Slave Line & then ended the Canadian colonizer again on July 4th for America 🇺🇸 Every Drake lie stomped on OVER & OVER. For all the OvHoes who actually believed “Family Matters” & tragic “Heart Part 6” 😂😢 Hit EVERY point needed & then some! ✅ Dropping Strategically on Independence Day ✅The Intro song 🤌🏾 ✅ The Cali Drip (10 different outfits) ✅ Tommy The Clown/Dancers & Kida the Great Krumping ✅ Luxury Cars, Bikes, etc ✅ Cultural/Hotspots/Landmarks (Red & Blue Bandanas tied together as belts representing Unity (Gangs), Projects, Tam’s, Compton City Hall/Courthouse) ✅ Whole City Outside & Got His Back ✅ Celebrity Appearances (DJ Mustard, Brandon T. Jackson, DeMar Derozan, Black Hippy, YG, Roddy Ricch, Steve Lacy, Thundercat, Big Hit, Giannis Antetokounmpo, etc) ✅ Shots Fired!(US✊🏾/U.S.🇺🇸on Kendrick’s wrapped cap, Classroom on Culture that had to be gatekept with a password, “You’re late” mocking for those OvHoe fans always complaining, Bible, Snatching up Look-a-like Drake wearing Tootsie Slide/Dark Lane demo fit in the “Family Matters” background before he can touch the Real Boogeyman, Wops on Owl Pinata ☠️, Prison Scene doing only 17 Push-Ups because it’s Drake’s Limit💀, Copying viral memes & moves from suspect Drake vids, Kendrick Hopscotchin’ on A-MINOR bar😭, Shipping Containers for Human/Sex Trafficking Ring with Kendrick & Dave in business attire (DEEP AF), TDE, Whitney in a wife beater with her ring on & the Kids dancing while Security Camera lens on them (Drake “spying”) & FAN spinnin’ overhead, Credits with Dave Free)🤣 ✅ Foreshadowing with OvHoe Owl (Predator) Getting Locked Up in Cage 🚔 *Maya Angelou Voice* “Know why the Caged Bird sings” 😩 ✅ Repeat scene of Crowd chanting “Step this way” outside Courthouse 🤭 Go to Jail Sir! Another explanation for the classroom scene in the metal room in the beginning another reactor brought up is that they are actually in an Aslyum & Kendrick is out of his mind and this is all his thoughts going on in his head. Also can connect to a prison sentencing & Kendrick serving time in that room doing push-ups. We love to say Kendrick is crazy/a villian during this beef. He showed no emotion really like this was like nothing to him. Drake doesn’t deserve his energy lol Another video pointed out the connection between the knock in the beginning, tightrope scene & ATL History Verse. Basically ministrel show. Slaves in Atlanta being forced to do the “Cakewalk” for prize and then mocked their colonizers which is the little run Kendrick & the Clown dancers do. This Tiktok video breaks it down well (hopefully link goes through) www.tiktok.com/t/ZPREbV4R9/

The story I heard was Eminem was on a plane about to take off and was on the phone with Dre when he heard this beat in the back ground. It was unfinished according to Dre. Em said no, it’s perfect leave like that. And then wrote most of the song on the flight while Dre lopped it, mixed to send it to him to finish writing while he was on tour I think in europe

Yo I am 41 ,been biased to EM music up until Kamikaze,then went down the rabbit hole and was fcken humbled quickly.....he's a phenomenal MC,but onething I've noticed how "wreckless" and I use that in a talk that shit come get it type of way his whole career and like you say puffy was a target ALOT ,but yet so many feared the diddler and would be warned not to ...EM did and nothing,well nothing far as I know major,the way he ran outside to Suge and his gang of ese in Cali for fifty's in da club video shoot,the way ya yo told it and Game told it was like he was the first out the door holding steel to me that's tough to know he'd go to war with whoever whenever when it came to his camp ,lotta respect for that but WTF NEVER knew he'd get down like that and yet no one tested his wrath like this song saying come outside and try me if you assholes doubt me .... what??? That's crazy to be that direct for so long .... sorry for the rant.... music does that lol... 🔥 Video as always fellas

I think his biggest beef with pop stars was the fact that he was always lumped in with them, on the charts, on countdowns like TRL and VH1, award shows, magazine covers. They were worlds apart but in entertainment media he was presented along side them, instead of along side real rappers where he probably felt he shoulda been. That's how I always took it anyway. And I get it lol.

The Em and ICP beef dates back to before Em popped, and ICP had already started makin a name. Em was handing out flyers saying ICP MIGHT be there at his show. He didn't speak to them beforehand, so they rightfully felt some type of way about it. Then they just started slinging dirt back and forth when Em popped.
@UncleRandy7310 күн бұрын

The Marilyn mention was because at the time a lot of school shootings happened and a lot of music artists their lyrics were blamed for it. The cocky caucasian on the radio is in reference to when he went on the Howard Stern interview and basically got bullied the entire time. One of the greatest tracks of all time
