In all simplicity: Hues: pure/distinct color Tints: hue+white Tones: hue+grey Shades: hue+black Note: tints, shades, and tones are all desaturated colors. You can also desaturate colors using their complimentary colors and using the exact complimentary color will give you gray. Idk if there is a special term for this desaturation tho.

Just a suggestion - paint both sides the same colour to really see the difference. The left side is very dark, so of course the one on the right is going to look 'brighter.'

Not an artist, as I found a few bottles of this in my mom's basement and she painted. I found your explanation very insightful. Thank you.

Can this be used as a resist for silk /fabric and watercolor paper? How to remove it later? On silk can it be colored?

I know this is an old video but… I use a combination of slow drying paints, open line from golden, along with their open thinner, open medium, open gel and, with regular acrylics, I may use some retarder. The best part is the paint on the sealed palette can be used for a couple of weeks and may just need a drop of thinner to get back to workable. I get a range of working times by varying what I use and what ratios I mix. Worth mentioning, I never use water. After using the various mediums and additives I don’t like water.

The word depth confuses the purpose of ur video..u don't want to use a word that also has links to distance when working with an artform that specifically deals with creating the illusion of distance/depth within a 2D plane..there are so many better words that u can substitute: variety, interest, character..and u even make a point about the value needing to be the same which eli.inates depth(!!)

Should we let the watercolour wash over gum arabic dry or let the watercolour dry on unmasked paper only, before rubbing it!? Coz the masked area dries several minutes late.

The mixtures looked exactly the same before the editing cut. After the cut there is clearly more rose madder added to the mixture.

Every time I use masking fluid, it ends up ripping off the paper when I try to peel it off! Does anybody know why? It doesn't seem to matter the quality of paper I use, the length of time I leave the masking fluid, or how thick a layer of masking fluid I use. It happens regardless and I'm at a loss on what to do😅

Why is it called How it's made, acrylic clear binder, yet you don't show how to make the acrylic clear binder. That's what I wanna know how how to make. You take dried pigment and add it to acrylic. But I hoping you were gonna show how to make the binder from scratch, cause it's hard to find videos that show how to make the binder from home
@Raffiarslanian961
@Raffiarslanian961 Жыл бұрын
Its because you cannot make the binder st home. The same way for watercolors where the binder is gum arabic. You cannot make gum arabic at home. The same way for oil colors. You cannot make linseed oil st home 🤦‍♂️

Galeria is like painting with food coloring and mayonnaise. These techniques can be used with any brand. I do appreciate the mention of quinacridone magenta and violet as well as the explanation of transparency and opacity. Winsor Blue is Pthalo blues
