I had a beard that I never trimmed/shaved since COVID and was completely into the - 'beard is manlier, shaven face is for kids and feminine men' mindset. Shaved it off a month ago due to an upcoming family gathering - my grandpa was adamant that I shave my beard for the family group photo (thanks, grandpa!). The guys hated me for it and made fun of me (as expected) but the girls in my office told me looked better and I got more attention from them which was never the case before. If you can rock a beard that is great, but having a clean shaven face with a fit body and well groomed wardrobe goes harder than any beard will.

I can understand both sides of the coin here tbh. I think a long beard looks stupid and unattractive (sure it looks masculine but not sexy) and also I think pure smooth shave looks gay and childish.. whilst the shaving of your cheeks makes the jawline more pronounced, anywhere else like the chin and upper lip makes you look like an alien because your face has grown longer as an adult and smooth no longer suits that look that you had as a kid. I think the 5mm stubble to a denser goatee is the superior look. You get the best of both worlds, you look clean and can still see your jawline, as well as, you look manlier rather than babyish.

My dad tells me to shave everyday. In his era, The Rifleman, Tales of Wales Fargo, Gunsmoke. All were clean shaven. My generation started growing out beards as a sign of masculine energy. So I understand both sides of the coins. I might shave here again.
