I still remember one commentator making some reference to their “older” music and style for this routine (paraphrasing) in a negative way. That’s part of why I love it. It’s one of the few short dance routines of that year that actually seemed to fit the Latin aspect and I enjoyed the music. Some of the music choices just boggled my mind. Plus, it’s a really fun dance.

Beautiful skating! Pure emotion and joy, not the over sexual garbage so many other teams are going with. And their twizzles! They deserved their bronze medal completely! ❤❤❤

I still come back to this performance to remind myself how beautiful it is when you get to share these kinds of special moments with your sibling. The ShibSibs will always have a place in my heart for being one of the best dance teams on ice while overcoming obstacles, and I just love their warm personality! My FAVORITE program they ever did, and one of my top ones of all time!

La magnifique miniature résume à elle seule la beauté unique de cette danse. Il y a Papadakis-Cizeron et il y a les autres, tous les autres. Je me souviens avoir visionné cette vidéo au moment des JO, il y a plus de 3 ans, au moment de la guerre des fans hystériques avec Virtue-Moir. C'est bien la première fois que j'ai vu les fans des vainqueurs être aussi haineux vis-à-vis des seconds.

El gran error de los franceses no participar en el team event, y eso que eran favoritos de los jueces, aquello les pudo ayudar así como V/M usaron esos eventos previos para ensayo y error con los jueces, lo cual corrigieron en el evento final y se llevaron su 2do oro olimpico (bueno 3ro si contamos el del team event)

Somehow I don't connect with these two, they don't give me that wow moments which Virtue Moir and Davis White gave

What a stupid comments. Funny about old fashion, magic Chock and Bates haha. French are pure dance, absolute unison between ice and music through the dance. They don't need cheap tinsel, vulgar presentation which was shown by Virtue, theatricality, they don't need fake gilding. You can't see the rhythm, quality of the movements, posture, phrasing in music throw the steps and moves. You can only see the costume. their dance is about form and impressions. French don’t tell you the love story of a cabaret prostitute. Their dance is about music and is music. so many people think that dance is gilded costumes and vulgar face expression.

Their twizzles are so beautiful! The highlight of any of their programs.

La médaille d'or olympique ne vaut malheureusement rien en patinage à force de triche systématique depuis toujours. L'esprit même des jeux en est trahi. Donc ne pas se fier au classement mais juste au plaisir d'admirer tous ces sportifs qui se depassent pour le plaisir. Le leur et celui de leur public.

Even a year later I can say they were way overscored! There is also a couple of out of in sync issues with the elements. They are great skaters but I don't think this was an Olympic worthy skate for them. Maybe in Beijing, they will have it together better. That being said, Tessa and Scott killed it out there and the world saw. Even with the changes, they HAD to make in their program. It was spectacular!( which I find ridiculous but that's a whole other comment in itself)

They look so young for their age i thought they were like 18 and 19 And i think with sibling teams there is a bigger trust one that you can't compare to marriage

Some people need over the top drama of a cheesy movie soundtrack that has been skated to thousands of times to interest them. Others are sophisticated enough to appreciate the timeless of Moonlight Sonata and the quiet grace do what P/C do 🤷🏻‍♀️

90% of these comments are giant paragraphs defending how being siblings doesn't take away from the performance. I don't even see the complaining comments

I'm not hugely into skating but howd they get silver??? The shib sibs at least matched the intensity of their music and twizzled better than this couple. This was highkey a let down bc of the chemistry too :/ but still elegant.

They are quite quite good; but they still fall well short of Tovil and Dean. In part their music is too complex, maybe too weird. Even so, despite my complaints, their performance is entirely awesome. God bless.

I'm sorry, but although they did an amazing job skating they are nearly as skilled as Tessa and Scott from Canada.

I didn't follow ice dancing, so this was the first year I saw the Shibutani siblings. This performance moved me in a way I haven't really been moved by skating since the days of Michelle Kwan. This is beautiful.
