Thank you so much for this video - I have followed your instructions & installed the same set-up on the table for a 246 machine. It’s working well! Thank you again!

Thanks, I knew I wanted something like this so I can stop using the rawhide mallet for everything, but I wasn't sure about the basics of the press, like whether the plate was removable, or how to attach punches to it. Cheers!

It’s been a very very long time since a new video has been posted. Has the channel changed to a different name/location or is this channel no longer active? Really enjoyed the videos.

Your help sort me out. The bottom thread was looking flat and top thread was visible at the bottom. Proper tension settings that you described here helped me. Top tension screw does the job well. What i learnt by trying and trying is that the top thread have to be too tight, which seems odd at first. But once it is set to the proper tension it needs, you cannot differentiate between top and bottom stitches.

This was really helpful, thank you. What are your thoughts about using a 1 ton Arbor press for hot stamping, die cutting and hot foil stamping, instead of getting a dedicated machine for each (i.e. instead of getting a hot foil stamping machine and a die cutting machine)?

Thanks so much for this tutorial! I had one question, could an Arbor press also be used for hot foil stamping?

Hello, thanks for the videos I do find them very helpful, but I have a question for a problem I keep having. I have a cylinder sewing machine ikonix ks335, and I'm using nylon 69 which is what is recommended. However, the top thread keeps on unraveling (splitting) any information about this problem would be greatly appreciated, thank you from Las Vegas🎰

Hi Geordie, I just found your video today and am glad I did. This one piece of equipment will save me money with the different things it can do. I sew and dabble with a little leather. I am wondering if this machine could be used to cut fabric for name tags for garment as well? I meant to ask, are you still making these videos? This one is 4 yrs ago, I hate to bother you if you are no longer doing these videos. I am from Detroit, Michigan. Love your videos

Arbor presses are wonderfully useful in ways slow hydraulic presses cannot match. i buy mine used for much less than new and the big heavy ones often go cheap. A visit to your local steel supplier may yield cheap leftovers from cutting for previous customers and should you choose to fab more shop equipment like an arbor press stand (for which you can cut the pieces than have a welder finish weld if you do not weld) it's worth learning your local metal supply options.

Love your detailed info on this machine, and thinking of buying one myself. So I hope you can please tell me what largest size thread it will take, and thickest leather? Will it do harness, bridle and saddle (english style), or is it only for bags and purses etc? Belts maybe?

Thanks for the helpful instructions! One question though: what was the reason you used the pin tool with a hammer to punch a hole to make a hole on the first part but used a different tool, a puncher, to pierce the second part? Can we not use only one tool to pierce both parts?

Great video! Any chance you know how to fix the machine if it’s missing stitches?! Driving me crazy. Sewing about 5/6 stitches and then missing a few and then eventually stops stitching completely. I’ve tried to adjust all tensions but nothing working. Thanks!!

Thanks for explaining this, I'm only going to be using this to make some miniature tack for model horses in a diorama, the girl who I got the idea from is really good (Josefine at Daisy Stalls on KZfaq) at all kinds of miniature harness. I have some scrap leather, just got your preferred knife and needed to know the technique. I hope it works as it can look really realistic as you can see if you have a look at one of her saddle making videos.

Do you have a class on cutting strips within a wider strip of leather? Specifically I’m wanting to make bracelets that have 3-5 narrow strips down the center length of the leather about an inch from the end edges.
