My pole has done great and as long as you keep the Riding mower away from the pole, I think it will do fine. Even with the high winds we get sometimes and flying one flag, the only thing that happens is the pole sections will start to slide down in the high winds.

I bought mine off of E-Bay. I have three colors now. If you use the foil and try to antique the foil, the color might change to something you might not like as much.

Do you think this would work on an antique German carriage clock? The original finish is looking bad, if it is original.

This will work on almost everything. The kit I bought has a sealer, but using a semi-gloss will also work. After the first coat and letting it dry, you would rub off any flakes that might want to come off because of double layering, then give it a second coat.

Beautiful clock and the chimes sound very nice. Those big hinges were needed to let the door open flat with the big posts on the front of the clock. The hardware on the clock is unique and appealing. Nice job. Thanks for sharing!

Heavy duty hinges. I can see why you liked it. The pendulum bob turned out great. The dial did also. The hinges did also. Love the door and how it comes off so easily. If the metal studs on the back are pointed then just like with some antique cuckoo clocks once you find the even tic toc then you would push the clock into the wall and those studs prevented it from tilting left or right. As always you have done a great job with repairing this clock and this video presentation. I wouldnt use that rope either. I would use that hangar that came with the clock. Really cool clock. I love it. I also love the price that you paid. Thanks Mike for the shout outs. Much appreciated. Half way decent channel. You are funny. Thanks for mentioning my channel. Never really looking at the old hangers before, this one does have to points to hold the clock from moving around when winding. I just have to straighten them out to be equal. I am glad you like my sick sense of humor, lol. You have a wonderful week Mark. God Bless.

They are a nice cuckoo clock, but in time, I found that the rubber wheel that make the boy climb the ladder will get hard and the boy will not climb the ladder. Thanks so much for watching and I joined your channel. Happy you like cuckoo clocks.

I already tossed my instruction. I tried to get my clock to do the 24hr setting and I can't get the clock to do it, unless you change the time-and on the PM side, keep running the time and it might go to the 24hr, and keep pushing the + sign and it will change to the 12hr side.

I do like the lift, but the John Deere is to heavy to lift unless you help lift the mower as you pump until it is 1/2 way up, then it will lift all the way.

how do I fix the Chime going off at the same time the bird calls. Yours gongs then bellows. Mine gongs at the first bellow and calls much much faster. I looked at the governor fan and it doesn't seem to be spinning free wheel. I put two nickels on the opposite side of the weight chain to see if I could counter the weight. I also put one penny on the right hand bellow. No change really.

Your governor, (The Fan) is what make the clock cuckoo at the right speed as long as you have the right weight for the clock. If you flick the fan with you finger and it moves freely, and more than a 1/2 a turn, then you might have to tighten the fan to the shaft a little more. As for the bellows closing. If they don't close all the way because the clock was sitting on it's back for a long time, then you should clamp them shut for a day so they get the memory of staying shut until it's time for them to work. I have had to use quarters on my bellow tops on older clock because even replacing the bellow paper, they just didn't have enough weight to close them.

There are many parts and that is why you want to take lots of pictures as you take your movement out, and before you take the movement apart for proper cleaning. Separating the outside the movement parts from the inside gears will make it less stressful if you do plan on cleaning the movement.

Check, how far the bellow opens. I say, the bellow shouldn't open more than 3/4's. Some clocks have a problem opening them too far and you can adjust them to about 1/2 way open if needed to get the cuckoo to work. The star wheel, if your clock has one showing, you can move so the last cuckoo, it stops right away so when the clock is getting ready to cuckoo again, it has time to ramp up speed to follow through with the cuckooing.
